Responsible for leading food safety compliance, audit execution, regulatory readiness & non-compliance governance across assigned sites across City. The role includes managing Food Safety Executive(s), driving closure of audit findings, partnering with site and central teams & ensuring consistent adherence to FSSAI requirements, internal hygiene standards & Zepto FSMT governance expectations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Internal Audits • Plan, lead and oversee scheduled food safety audits and hygiene inspections across assigned sites across City. • Ensure audits are conducted using standardized internal food safety checklists and governance protocols. • Validate audit observations, objective evidence, photographs and risk classifications submitted by Food Safety Executive(s). • Prioritize Critical, High, Medium and Low findings and ensure appropriate escalation for high-risk issues. • Ensure timely submission and quality review of site visit and audit reports. Regulatory Readiness • Drive site-readiness assessments in advance of external food safety audits and regulatory inspections. • Ensure site-level licenses, permits and statutory displays are valid, updated, and appropriately maintained. • Identify regulatory gaps and coordinate corrective actions with site and central teams. • Represent and support site teams during regulatory inspections, as required. Non-Compliance (NC) Management • Own the non-compliance tracking process for the assigned cluster and ensure all audit findings are accurately logged. • Lead root-cause discussions with relevant departments and ensure practical corrective and preventive actions are defined. • Monitor CAPA progress, drive timely closure and remove execution blockers with site leadership. • Review and approve closure evidence for non-compliances based on risk severity and governance requirements. • Escalate overdue, repeated or high-risk NCs to senior food safety leadership for intervention. Governance & Reporting • Maintain weekly compliance dashboards and trackers for the assigned City. • Analyze audit scores, recurring observations, NC ageing and site-level compliance trends. • Prepare structured updates and insights for leadership reviews and governance meetings. • Guide, review, and support Food Safety Executive(s) in audit execution, reporting quality and site follow-ups. • Escalate systemic or recurring site-level issues and recommend preventive interventions.
