**Role: Data Annotation Engineer** **Location:** Bengaluru (with travel as required) **Type:** Full-time **Summary** We're looking for a detail-oriented Data Annotation Engineer with experience in image and video annotation to join our team. In this role, you'll annotate image data used to train and test machine learning models supporting defense applications. The position involves significant time at client’s location and frequent travel for on-site data collection. If you have strong attention to detail and hands-on annotation experience, we'd like to hear from you. **Key Responsibilities** *Data Annotation & Organization* - Accurately annotate image data, ensuring labels are correct and relevant to the military/defense domain. - Work closely with the data science team to understand annotation requirements for model training and testing. - Organize and categorize datasets to support an efficient model training pipeline. - Maintain thorough records of annotated data and protect data integrity throughout. - Assess model performance after training. - Provide feedback on annotation quality and how it affects algorithmic results. *Planning and Data Gathering* - Plan and execute data collection efforts tailored to each project's needs. - Travel to various locations to gather data in the field. - Coordinate with on-ground teams to ensure smooth, reliable data collection. - Partner with data scientists, ML engineers, and other team members to deliver on project goals. **Qualifications** - Minimum 2 years of professional experience in data annotation, preferably in the military/defense or a related domain. - Proficiency with image annotation tools and annotation best practices. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage large datasets. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Experience evaluating algorithm performance using annotated data. **Preferred** - Experience planning and leading data collection campaigns. - Prior work with machine learning or AI teams. - Python programming skills. - Familiarity with software testing methods and tools (a plus, not required).
