In PSLD, as within all of Caterpillar, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence. As the Network solutions & Engineering (NS&E) **Distribution Consultant** you will be part of a team comprised of Business Process Insights & Global Operations Support Analysts, EWM System Support, and Facility Planning & Engineering professionals based in the India (Bangalore). You will partner with our Global teams in North America (United States) and Europe (Belgium). **Job Summary** As the **Distribution Consultant**, you will be working on projects related to EWM business architect, system integration & Logistics Engineering. **What You Will Do:** - Support and deliver Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) implementations and deployment of SAP Service Parts Management (SPM) - Support and deliver system integration projects (Functional specification document, functional design specification, Host interface specification, application programming interfaces) to connect SAP EWM/WMS/ERP & warehouse automation software - Support and deliver Facility Planning & Engineering projects like Racking setup, warehouse automated storage and retrieval projects. - Identifying new disruptive technologies to provide business value at Caterpillar. - Build proactive, responsive relationships to ensure alignment of business objectives with technology solutions. - Provide system architect knowledge and expertise enabling guidance of project initiatives including solution analysis, estimates, and recommendations. - Provide solution option development insights, including vendor selection support for complex business; or management of proof-of-concept or proof-of-technology. - Partner with regional EWM solution architects and EWM GPPO to support project recommendations and oversight of blueprint, design, and implementation of quality solutions. - Collaborate with business stakeholders to execute business priorities, execute roadmap, and manage delivery expectations. - Provide decision support in accordance with the IAC/BAC (IT and Business Architect Councils) - Evaluate and disposition global and regional change requests and issues - Technical solution advisor for EWM functionality and business requirements - Accountable for solution viability & prioritization, assessment, and socialization of options with business partners **What You Have (Basic Requirements):** - **Basic Requirement:** Bachelor’s degree - College degree in Mechanical or Industrial or equivalent degree - Depending on project need - Willingness to travel up to 50% of domestic and/or international travel throughout the year - Be proficient in English. - 10 (plus) years of progressively complex project experience, of which at least 5 years’ experience with SAP systems. - Strong PC Skills (SAP EWM, WMS, Excel, MS projects, PowerPoint, & AutoCAD) - **Business Acumen:** Knowledge of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations. • **Technology Trends:** Knowledge of marketplace experience, developments and trends related to the organization's use of Information Technology (IT); ability to apply knowledge of Business and IT appropriately to benefit the organization. - **Analytical Thinking:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. **What Will Set You Apart (Top Candidates Will Have):** - Proven ability to effectively collaborate with a diverse global team to deliver significant business results & project deliverables. - Ability to simplify complex information and develop/deliver clear communications - Experience and knowledge of EWM system architecture and functions - Experience of System integration between WMS and automation software - Experience of managing large scale warehouse automation project - Strong analytical thought process - Proven ability to work with and influence others from diverse functions. - Strategic thinker with a high level of energy and enthusiasm. - Strong initiative and accountability and intellectual curiosity. - Knowledge of the Caterpillar aftermarket parts distribution supply chain - Familiarity with IT operations and processes including but not limited to application development/support, infrastructure implementations, IT consolidations, and support. - An ability to motivate diverse teams and effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries with strong global and enterprise mindset. - Experience with full systems development life cycle and support of customer applications. - Experience with LEAN/Agile development methodologies.
