Designation: Senior Executive / Assistant Manager - Costing Primary Work location: Chennai **Job Summary:** Results-driven Finance and Cost Accounting professional responsible for inventory management, fixed assets, capital expenditure, product costing, and cost reduction initiatives. Ensures financial accuracy through rigorous reconciliations, reporting, budgeting support, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency and compliance. **In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:** Inventory - To be responsible for all inventory reports and management - To investigate and reconcile variance daily on inventory accounts between sub-ledger and GL - To generate daily inventory report - To coordinate E&O Scrap - Monitoring inventory transaction - To prepare inventory forecast for POR - To prepare monthly report for APHQ request Asset Register - To be responsible for the whole asset register - To ensure all acquired assets are properly captured into account following to AR raised - To prepare monthly fixed asset schedule, addition and disposal - To ensure monthly depreciation is charged out correctly - To segregate asset register by department and ensure the asset is tagged with asset number - Process asset disposition requests - Preparation of month end GL close and reconciliation for asset Capex - Ensure proper approvals are in place before any investment decisions - To review Capex and ensuring document completion - Preparation of ROI and analysis for major projects - To monitor Capex spending against budget - To monitor, review and follow up on CIP - Review the capitalization of fixed assets - Maintain up-to date monthly capital expenditure report, forecasting and any related ad-hoc reporting upon request - Preparation of annual Budget with project managers Cost Reduction - Review on Cost Reduction projects submission by dept - Work closely and to support Cost Reduction Champion - Prepare and Submission of monthly Cost Reduction report - Preparation of annual target for Cost Reduction Item Cost / Product Costing - To be responsible for all item cost setting and product costing - To perform analysis for variances (material, labor, burden) & costing related expenses analysis - To prepare costing related journal and post accordingly - To perform inventory revaluation using CAR 2 monthly and prepare CAR1 report quarterly - To update standard cost on a daily basis - To ensure all components and work centers for the Customer orders and Manufacturing orders are being picked/issued properly as per bill of material - To ensure all the work orders are closed on a monthly basis - To prepare, analyze and review standard cost for yearly cost update activity Others - To lead annual stock take - To lead asset sighting - To perform bank reconciliation - To compute costing upon request - Work with ITSS for system issue - Supports requests from operation team - Handling internal and external audit - Perform adhoc analysis **Who You** **Are:** You keep in touch with customers, build the customer relationships, understand the importance and interdependence of internal customer relationships, balance planning with actions, research initiatives and try innovative ways, You stay aligned with your goals and stay productive, focus on priorities and set stretch goals, apply systems and technology to stay on track, convert ideas into actions and produce results with new initiatives. **For This Role, You Will Need:** - ICWA / CMA Inter with minimum 5 years of experience in Material Master Cost Update and related Costing in a Manufacturing entity **Preferred qualifications that set you apart:** - Experience in product costing, ideally in an automotive, manufacturing or engineering environment - Good IT systems knowledge and skills including advanced Excel skills. - Ideally experienced in the use of spreadsheets, estimating pricing models and cost management tools - Able to show evidence of adding value and cost optimisation. - Knowledge and understanding of a variety of manufacturing/automotive processes and components and ability to evaluate and analyse associated costs **Our Culture & Commitment to You** At Emerson, we prioritize a workplace where every employee is valued, respected, and empowered to grow.
