**Position Description:** Lead the underwriting strategy and team operations for group health and personal accident insurance, ensuring profitability and portfolio growth. **Key Responsibilities:** - Own the profitability and top-line growth of the Group Health and Group Personal Accident (PA) insurance portfolio. - Lead the evaluation of group proposals by analyzing claims history, coverage terms, demographics, and market dynamics. - Ensure timely and competitive quote generation, with a focus on identifying high-conversion, profitable accounts. - Collaborate with external stakeholders (sales teams, brokers, channel partners, clients) and internal teams (Operations, IT) to support business acquisition and retention. - Drive efficiency within the underwriting team by identifying automation opportunities and providing inputs for IT system enhancements. - Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and innovations in the group health insurance space. - Recommend new product ideas and underwriting strategies to maintain a competitive edge. - Manage and mentor a team of underwriters, ensuring high performance, skill development, and alignment with business goals. - Foster strong working relationships across the value chain to support seamless execution and client satisfaction. **Key Competencies:** - Group Health Underwriting experience and team management skills - Strong analytical and numerical reasoning abilities - Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English - Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders - Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence **Behavioral Traits:** - Analytical thinking and problem-solving - Clear and effective communication - Collaboration and cross-functional teamwork - Curiosity and continuous learning - Business acumen and strategic mindset
