Role & responsibilities • Develop and drive MM strategy aligned with business objectives, project requirements, and organizational growth plans. • Provide functional leadership and governance for Materials Management across all projects stores within the SBG. • Optimize Working capital through inventory rationalization, surplus reduction, material redeployment, and inventory ageing control. • Review Non-moving, Slow-moving, and Surplus inventory with PMs/RCMs for timely declaration and transfer to surplus locations in SAP. • Monitor Scrap inventory and SDR processing to ensure timely disposal in line with the approved Scrap Disposal Policy. • Drive Inter-project material utilization and redeployment before initiating fresh procurement. • Review and facilitate infrastructure readiness for new projects, including stores, security, CCTV, fencing, IT systems, and logistics support. • Ensure timely GRN and VIM processing, achieving targeted TATs and supporting efficient invoice processing. • Ensure 100% compliance with MM Manual, SAP processes, DOA requirements, internal controls, and company policies. • Ensure accurate inventory management, including proper storage, preservation, identification, bin location control, and 5S implementation. • Ensure physical stock matches book stock and review quarterly inventory reconciliations within prescribed timelines. • Monitor material transactions including receipts, issues, transfers, returns, and inventory adjustments for accuracy and transparency. • Drive disposal of surplus, obsolete, non-moving, and scrap materials through approved disposal mechanisms and E-Auction. • Review inventory KPIs including inventory accuracy, ageing, SDR closure, GRN TAT, utilization, and working capital performance. • Ensure timely MIS and management reporting to Projects, RO, HO, and Management. • Lead internal, external, statutory, and management audits, ensuring timely closure of observations and preventive actions. (including In-House Virtual Audits) • Lead, mentor, and develop MM teams through performance reviews, capability development, succession planning, and training programs. • Promote cross-functional collaboration with Planning, Projects, Procurement, Finance, QA/QC, Contracts, and other stakeholders. • Identify and mitigate inventory risks related to obsolescence, pilferage, theft, excess procurement, deterioration, and stock discrepancies. • Safeguard company assets through effective inventory controls, loss prevention measures, and business continuity planning. • Review critical and long-lead materials and implement mitigation plans to prevent project disruptions. • Ensure compliance with statutory, contractual, insurance, and regulatory requirements related to inventory and stores operations. • Investigate and close inventory variances, losses, damages, and process deviations with suitable corrective and preventive actions. • Drive digital transformation and SAP optimization initiatives to improve inventory visibility, control, and reporting accuracy. • Drive continuous improvement and standardization initiatives to enhance productivity, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities through inventory optimization, material reutilization, disposal efficiency. • Maximize value realization from surplus and scrap disposal through structured disposal programs and E-Auction platforms. • Support project mobilization and demobilization activities related to materials, stores, logistics, and infrastructure.
