Role: Head of Logistics Location: Ather Energy - Hosur Factory, Tamil Nadu Reporting to: Head - Logistics & Warehouse About the Team and the Role The Logistics & Warehouse team at Ather is responsible for managing domestic outbound vehicle and spares distribution, international trade (EXIM) execution, port operations, and real-time fleet tracking across regional hubs and dealer networks. This role is for a Head of Logistics who will lead outbound distribution velocity, manage global shipment workflows, enforce regulatory compliance, and align cross-functional operations during peak delivery periods. Responsibilities • Ensure the flawless and high-velocity distribution of scooters from manufacturing plants to regional hubs and dealer showrooms. • Manage mission-critical fulfillment of spares, accessories, and charging infrastructure to support retail and service ecosystems. • Act as the primary anchor for Sales and Service teams, successfully absorbing month-end surges while maintaining damage-free delivery standards. • Drive the execution blueprint for international business units and global shipment workflows. • Govern relationships with Custom House Agents (CHAs) and global freight partners to fast-track clearances and facilitate outbound forwarding. • Vigilantly monitor port activities to eliminate demurrage penalties and prevent financial leakage. • Direct real-time GPS monitoring and transporter alignment to maintain total visibility and ensure absolute systemic compliance with E-way bill regulations. • Exercise strict financial discipline over premium freight usage while navigating cross-functional operational friction during peak periods. Experience and Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, Business Administration, or a related technical field. • 12-15+ years of core operations experience specializing in Outbound Transportation, EXIM, or Last-Mile logistics within Automotive OEMs, FMCG, or major Retail/E-commerce. Must Have Competencies • Outbound Transportation & Distribution Management: Managing high-velocity finished goods and spares distribution across regional hubs and dealer networks. • EXIM & Port Operations Execution: Expertise in Indian customs, port regulations, INCOTERMS, Custom House Agent governance, and international freight forwarding. • Fleet Tracking & Regulatory Compliance: Directing real-time GPS fleet monitoring and enforcing systemic compliance with statutory E-way bill frameworks. • Logistics Financial Discipline & Cost Control: Budgeting logistics expenses, managing premium freight utilization, and preventing demurrage penalties. Good to Have Competencies • Operations & Workflow Optimization: Driving continuous process improvements and resolving bottlenecks across distribution channels. • Transporter & Partner Management: Negotiating terms, aligning 3PL capacity, and managing SLA performance under high-pressure periods. • Cross-Functional Operational Alignment: Coordinating logistics execution across Sales, Manufacturing, and Customer Support channels. • Spares & Network Inventory Fulfillment: Overseeing warehouse supply chain operations to ensure consistent availability of charging infrastructure and spare parts.
