Heat Treatment Manager

Job description

**Role & responsibilities** - Plan, schedule, and oversee all heat treatment operations (normalizing, quenching, tempering, annealing, stress relieving, etc.) for forged components. - Ensure metallurgical properties (hardness, toughness, grain structure) meet customer and industry standards. - Manage furnace operations, including calibration, temperature uniformity surveys, and preventive maintenance. - Collaborate with forging, machining, and quality teams to ensure seamless workflow and adherence to delivery timelines. - Develop and implement heat treatment process sheets and SOPs for different grades of steel and alloys. - Monitor and control process parameters to ensure repeatability and consistency. - Supervise metallurgical testing (hardness, microstructure, ultrasonic, mechanical properties) and validate results. - Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and environmental regulations. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives in energy efficiency, cycle time reduction, and cost optimization. - Train and develop heat treatment shop personnel in process control and safety practices. Liaise with customers and auditors for technical discussions, approvals, and certifications.
