Core Responsibilities • Design Engineering: Execute I&C scope for various phases, including control philosophy, safety philosophies, and system architectures. • Process Collaboration: Work with design team to review P&IDs, process data sheets, and control narratives to develop comprehensive instrumentation data sheets. • Document Deliverables: Generate and check key deliverables including Instrument Index, I/O Lists, Cause & Effect Matrices, Cable Schedules, Loop Diagrams, and Hook-Up drawings. • System Specification: Specify Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), Fire and Gas Systems (FGS), and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). • Procurement Support: Prepare Technical Specification packages, Request for Quotations (RFQs), evaluate vendor bids (Technical Bid Evaluation), and review vendor drawings and data sheets as needed. • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all designs comply with international Oil & Gas codes, statutory regulations, and participate in safety studies such as HAZOP and SIL classification. Work Experience Technical Skills & Expertise Required • Engineering Tools: Preferred knowledge in SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation / Intoals), AVEVA Instrumentation, or equivalent industry design software. • Sizing Calculations: Expertise in sizing and selection of Control Valves, Relief Valves (PSVs), Flow Elements, and Regulators. • Industry Standards: Deep knowledge of various standards • Hazardous Areas: Strong understanding of hazardous area classification and selection of explosion-proof/intrinsically safe equipment. • Commercial Literacy: Ability to interpret complex technical bids, compare commercial deviations, and reconcile technical gaps from incomplete vendor data. Qualifications Required • Education: Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation & Control, Electrical & Electronics Engineering. • Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of core engineering experience specifically within Oil & Gas including FEED and Detailed Engineering projects (Upstream, Midstream, or Downstream). • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent technical writing capabilities, and the ability to work seamlessly in a multidisciplinary team environment.
