Job description

The HR Business Partner will act as a strategic interface between HR and R&D functions, supporting key scientific divisions including FR&D, API R&D, Analytical Development and Other R&D supporting functions. The role is responsible for driving the people agenda aligned to business priorities, ensuring organizational effectiveness, talent readiness, and a high-performance culture. 1. Strategic Business Partnering : Collaborate closely with business leaders to translate R&D objectives into people strategies Drive workforce planning aligned with project pipelines and innovation timelines Leverage HR analytics (attrition, hiring metrics, productivity) to provide actionable insights 2. Talent Acquisition & Capability Building : Drive end-to-end talent acquisition for R&D functions, ensuring timely hiring of niche and critical skill sets Strengthen talent pipelines and improve hiring effectiveness across specialized scientific domains Support capability building initiatives, including technical and leadership development programs 3. Talent & Performance Management : Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, mid-year reviews, and calibration Identify and nurture high-potential talent and succession pipelines Enable continuous learning and development interventions for R&D teams 4. Employee Relations & Culture : Maintain strong employee connect across lab environments to understand on-ground challenges Handle grievance resolution, disciplinary actions, and IR matters in collaboration with stakeholders Drive employee engagement initiatives to foster a high-performance and innovation-driven culture 5. Compliance, Governance & Audit Readiness : Ensure adherence to HR policies, governance frameworks, and other compliances Ensure audit readiness at all times, especially within regulated R&D environments 6. Change Management & Organizational Effectiveness : Support organizational restructuring, role transitions, and process improvements Drive change management initiatives aligned with evolving R&D priorities and business needs Desired competencies: - Strong business acumen and stakeholder influencing skills - Expertise in HR Business Partnering within a pharma setup preferably. - Deep understanding of talent management, workforce planning, and OD interventions - Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities - Excellent employee relations and conflict resolution skills - Ability to drive change management and culture transformation Qualifications & Desired Experience - MBA / PGDM in HR - 12–16 years of experience as an HRBP, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry, with proven exposure to business partnering / Plant HR environment, to a strategic role with direct impact on business outcomes - Proven ability to partner with senior stakeholders across functions in a fast-paced, people-centric, and performance-driven environment. - To enable R&D business success by aligning people strategies with scientific and organisational goals, strengthening talent capabilities, and ensuring a robust, compliant, and high-performing work environment.
