Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it. **Job Summary** We are seeking a skilled **IT Architect (Azure Cloud Architect**) to join **Azure Platform Services -CAT IT Division** The preference for this role is to be based out of **Bangalore – Caterpillar PSN** **What you will do** - Architect and design applications that run on Azure China/21Vianet and Commercial clouds by providing technical expertise and guidance in cloud technologies. - Work with GCIO teams to champion the Azure services available and how they can enable the business to run more efficiently in Azure. - Lead migrations from on-premise deployments to Azure cloud environment. - Work with the Principal Architects and IT Teams to develop roadmaps for Azure cloud services. - Work with the IT Security team on analysis and security architecture for major initiatives. - Work with other IT teams to establish, design, and support an enterprise cloud architecture that provides the required capacity plans and supports the long-term strategic goals for enterprise cloud technologies. - Lead and perform development, automation, and deployment assignments without close supervision. - Complete technical evaluation of Azure cloud services for general on-boarding including aligning service capabilities to business requirements, reference architecture designs, and controls to securely deploy solutions. - Assist with documentation, training, and usability efforts. **What you will have** - Strong IT infrastructure and/or software development experience, especially in networking, application services, and distributed computing. - Technical leadership or lead developer experience. - Hands-on experience with cloud architecture, systems design, application design, and development. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - Experience automating infrastructure or application deployments using PowerShell, Python, Java, NodeJS, .NET, JSON, or YAML. - Strong English communication, teamwork, analytical, and interpersonal skills. - Strong problem-solving and customer service skills. - **This position requires candidate to work a 5-day -a -week schedule in the office.** **Top Candidates Will Also Have:** - Microsoft Azure Certification(s) such as: AZ-305, AZ-500, AZ-104, AZ-900, AZ-204, or AZ-400 - Experience working with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Azure DevOps - Experience with the Azure Portal, CLI, PowerShell cmdlets, and/or REST APIs - Experience using the Agile methodology - Experience designing and/or building Azure solutions including web-based UI or API applications, IoT solutions, data pipelines, or machine learning/AI capabilities. - Experience working with corporate security on infrastructure or applications security compliance and remediation activities (e.g, Risk Acceptance, Security Configuration Baseline) **Skills desired:** **Core Application Systems: Knowledge** of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations. Level Extensive Experience: - Manages application-related issues, implications, and approaches with clients. - Evaluates key interfaces and interdependencies among core applications systems. - Explains features and benefits of core applications for consideration by business units. - Implements existing and planned application enhancements in major business units. - Tracks data flow between own applications and core applications in other business areas. - Plans enhancement, conversion, and retirement strategies for core applications. **Analytical Thinking**: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
