Lead – Buyer | Supply Chain Management Location: Office Experience: 10–15 years Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s in SCM/Materials Management preferred. Role Overview We are looking for a Lead – Buyer to drive strategic procurement of cementitious materials within the central Supply Chain Management function. The role will lead end-to-end sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, and supply continuity while partnering closely with projects and key business stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Develop and execute strategic sourcing and annual procurement plans, including long-term contracts. • Manage the complete sourcing cycle: vendor identification, RFQs, bid evaluation, negotiations, and contracting. • Conduct market research, supplier benchmarking, and price-trend analysis to support sourcing decisions. • Partner with projects and internal stakeholders to ensure timely material availability and uninterrupted supply. • Negotiate commercial terms and identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering. • Monitor supplier performance and develop alternate sources to mitigate supply and business risks. • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, contractual requirements, tax regulations, and audit standards. • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and industry partners. • Resolve supply, quality, and commercial issues effectively. • Guide and mentor junior team members and contribute to SCM initiatives. Key Skills • Strong strategic sourcing, procurement, negotiation, and contract management skills. • Expertise in supplier/partner development and relationship management. • Strong analytical and commercial acumen, including costing and market analysis. • Proficiency in MS Excel and Microsoft Office; ability to analyze data using Power BI. • Knowledge of procurement processes, best practices, tax laws, and digital procurement initiatives. • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. • Strong planning, prioritization, adaptability, and attention to detail. Key Stakeholders Internal: Procurement, Projects/Cross-functional Teams, IC/BU Leadership, Finance, Audit, HR External: Major domestic and international suppliers/vendors/contractors and industry associations. Ideal Candidate: A strategic procurement professional with 10–15 years of experience, strong commercial and negotiation expertise, and proven ability to manage suppliers, stakeholders, and complex sourcing initiatives in a dynamic construction environment.
