The Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Mechanical Engineering will be responsible for developing, reviewing, and delivering industry-aligned academic content across core and emerging areas of Mechanical Engineering. The role will contribute to course development, technical content creation, expert-led training, project mentoring, assessments, and academic solutioning for undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs. The incumbent will work closely with Lead SMEs, academic institutions, Content, Product, Delivery, and Business teams to ensure that learning programs combine strong engineering fundamentals with practical industry applications. Key Responsibilities Content Development & Academic Excellence • Develop, review, and enhance academic content across core and applied Mechanical Engineering domains. • Create technically accurate and application-oriented PPTs, reading materials, assignments, assessments, question banks, case studies, and projects. • Translate complex mechanical engineering concepts into structured and learner-friendly learning content. • Incorporate real-world engineering applications, industrial practices, case studies, simulations, and project-based learning. • Develop and review technical scripts for video lectures and digital learning assets. • Ensure content remains aligned with academic requirements, industry standards, and emerging technologies. Training & Technical Delivery • Deliver technical sessions through classroom, virtual, and blended learning formats. • Conduct expert sessions, workshops, demonstrations, and technical discussions for engineering students and professionals. • Mentor learners on academic and industry-oriented projects. • Support Faculty Development Programs and Train-the-Trainer initiatives where required. Mechanical Engineering Domains Exposure To Multiple Areas Of Mechanical Engineering Such As • Thermodynamics • Heat Transfer • Fluid Mechanics • Thermal Engineering • Energy Conservation & Management • Manufacturing Processes • Production Engineering • Machine Design • Theory of Machines • Mechanical Vibrations • Industrial Engineering • CAD / CAM • CNC & Automation • Materials & Metallurgy • Automobile Engineering • Renewable & Sustainable Energy • Industry 4.0 & Smart Manufacturing • Strong specialization in one or more domains along with a sound understanding of core Mechanical Engineering subjects is expected. Curriculum & Course Enhancement • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of UG and PG Mechanical Engineering curricula. • Map learning content with Course Outcomes (COs), Program Outcomes (POs), and academic requirements. • Identify curriculum gaps and recommend relevant industry-oriented topics, projects, tools, and learning interventions. • Support development of practical, laboratory, simulation-based, and project-based learning experiences. Industry Alignment & Innovation • Stay updated with emerging developments in manufacturing, automation, Industry 4.0, energy systems, advanced materials, and mechanical technologies. • Integrate relevant industry trends and applications into academic programs. • Develop industry case studies, practical projects, simulations, and hands-on learning activities. Exposure to industrial projects, manufacturing environments, engineering design, R&D, production, or technical consulting will be an added advantage. Educational Qualifications • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering – Mandatory |M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering / relevant specialization – Preferred | Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering / relevant discipline – Added Advantage Department: Collegeconnect Experience Required: 6–12 Years Location: Chennai (Work From Office)
