Role & responsibilities 1) Network Operations (OnPrem) • Administer and support LAN/WAN, routing & switching, and enterprise WiFi • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot L2/L3 network issues (VLANs, STP, OSPF/BGP, QoS) • Manage network device lifecycle (build, patching, firmware upgrades, EOL/EOS planning) • Maintain network performance baselines and ensure adherence to SLAs 2) Security & Perimeter (Firewall/VPN) • Operate and manage firewalls/UTM (policy changes, NAT, IPS/IDS, URL filtering) • Configure and support Site-to-Site VPN and Remote Access VPN • Coordinate with SOC/InfoSec for security events, remediation, and audit readiness • Implement segmentation, least privilege access, and secure routing policies 3) Cloud Networking (Azure/AWS/GCP) • Design/support cloud networking components such as: • VNET/VPC, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways • Network Security Groups / Security Groups • Load balancers, Private Link/Endpoints, firewall integration • Enable hybrid connectivity: • ExpressRoute/Direct Connect/VPN gateways (as applicable) • Troubleshoot connectivity between onprem, cloud, and SaaS environments 4) Data Center & DR Readiness • Support DC/DR network architecture (HA, redundancy, failover testing) • Ensure consistent network configuration across primary and DR sites • Participate in DR drills, document outcomes, and implement improvements 5) Monitoring, Automation & Documentation • Use monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Zabbix, Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch) • Perform root cause analysis (RCA), problem management, and preventive actions • Maintain accurate documentation: • Network diagrams, IP plans, firewall rulesets, SOPs/runbooks, CMDB updates • Identify opportunities for automation (PowerShell/Python/Ansible) for repetitive tasks 6) Stakeholder & Vendor Management • Coordinate with OEMs/ISPs/MSPs for incident resolution and changes • Support change management, CAB approvals, maintenance windows, and reporting • Provide regular health reports and improvement recommendations to leadership Preferred candidate profile • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with Cisco / Juniper / HPE / Aruba (any equivalent) • Working knowledge of firewalls (Fortinet / Palo Alto / Check Point / Cisco ASA, etc.) • Experience with VPN technologies (IPSec, SSL VPN), NAT, access controls • Exposure to cloud networking (Azure/AWS/GCP) with hybrid connectivity understanding • Familiarity with ITSM processes: Incident/Problem/Change Management (ITIL aligned) • Strong technical working knowledge on Heterogenous Network technology and devices (routers/switches/wireless architecture, in Datacenter environment), TCP/IP protocol family as well as dynamic routing based on BGP • Hands-on experience with Networking, Routing, Switching, DNS, firewall concepts & management, AAA with TACACS+ and Radius, network management with SNMP and NETFLOW/SFLOW • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure • Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills • Strong written and verbal communication, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities. • Superior knowledge and ability to manage and prioritize multiple ongoing, business critical projects
