**Job Title:** Mainframe Developer & Technical Analyst – Tribe DevEx **Department** : ISPL ITG Fortis ADM **About Business Line/Function** BNP Paribas Fortis is a key player on the Belgian market and a driver of economic growth. Within the entity the DevEx tribe has at its mission to improve the overall way of developing software, by taking a people centric approach on those who are involved in the day of day of crafting software. The tribe supports the IT organisation through process, coaching, training, technical leadership as well as tooling in support of the E2E value stream of in-house Software Development. As a member of the agile team, the dev engineer applies several useful skills (analysis / design / development / testing / integration), which in combination with the skills of the other members of the team compose all required skills to deliver a product at the end of each sprint. **Position Purpose** As developer, you join an enthusiastic multidisciplinary team. Together, you develop, enrich, and maintain the applications doing Technical analysis, coding and monitoring the QA and PROD environment. You develop products in Cobol from the BNP Paribas Fortis requirements definition to the end to end test participation. Working in an agile mode with daily huddles and frequent production releases, whilst maintaining high quality standards. The position requires working in a virtual team and international environment and is multidisciplinary in nature. It involves coordination with other locations and divisions of BNP Paribas as necessary. It is important that the candidate should have strong financial products knowledge along with high analytical skills and attention to details. **Responsibilities** Direct Responsibilities - Ensure together with the other squad members the implementation of changes requests, maintenance and future improvements. - You help to define the development plan and acceptance criteria out of those requirements. - You design, build, test and maintain the new & existing features with high performance, reusable, and reliable code. - You maintain and monitor job scheduling processes and resolve production issues to ensure data accuracy and reliability. - You focus on the best possible performance, quality, and uptime of the application by: - Identifying & solving bottlenecks or bugs. - Ensuring High Code quality, readability, and structure. - Making smart automatization (if relevant). - Creating/Updating the technical documentation to ensure service continuity. - You embed the agile & the development best practices in your daily job. Contributing Responsibilities - Provide technical support to developers and technical analysts - Provide support and advice regarding quality and performance of mainframe applications - Define best practices for development squads - coordination of all modifications for different infra components and environments to improve the tools and framework in collaboration with mainframe specialists Participate to infra projects, proof of concepts and customisations of new products **Technical & Behavioral Competencies** - Mandatory : Expert - broad knowledge and experience with Cobol, IMS (DC DB), DB2, JCL, AMB, DFSORT - experience with development tools used in domain: Endevor, EDZ, ZOS Connect, IBM/Broadcom tools - extensive experience in technical management of online and batch applications - Good understanding of mainframe architecture (hardware, OS, networking, databases, middleware) experience with integration using different technologies (distributed/mainframe) and infra components **Strong Plus** - open DevOps mindset on new tech/frameworks that will facilitate the Mainframe developer experience. - experience with Z/OS Explorer as GUI for Z/OS Connect, IBM File Manager and Fault Analyzer, debugger, … - Office 365 Access, Java, .NET - Capacity/ performance monitoring and optimization of applicative elements (routines, programs, schedules ...) - experience with GitLab - experience with Dynatrace (dashboard, analysis) experience with VSCode and Mainframe plugins is a plus **Specific Qualifications** - Minimum 6 years of experience along with Bachelor's Degree - in IT, Computer related field or equivalent experience. - Prior experience in similar domain. **Other Skills** **Skills Referential** **(** **Required knowledge, skills and abilities)** Your English level is top-notch to create bonds & collaborate with your peers. - Agile methodology has no secret for you. - Knowledge of banking products is a nice to have - Proactive mindset **Behavioral Skills** - Communication - Analytical Ability - Team Player **Education Level:** Bachelor Degree or equivalent **Location:** Chennai **About BNP Paribas Group** BNP Paribas is the European Union’s leading bank and key player in international banking.
