More information is available at www.techmahindra.com. **Role Description** This is a full-time, on-site Mid to Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator role based in Bengaluru. The role involves managing, monitoring, and optimizing PostgreSQL databases to ensure high availability, performance, and security. The Database Administrator will handle database design and implementation, configure and maintain replication and backup strategies, and perform regular health checks and capacity planning. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting database issues, tuning queries, managing schema changes, and collaborating with application and infrastructure teams to support development and production environments. The professional in this role will also contribute to automation, documentation, and adherence to best practices and compliance standards. **Qualifications** - Candidates should possess strong skills in Database Administration and Databases, with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL in mid to senior-level roles. - Candidates should possess skills in Database Design, including schema modeling, indexing strategies, and performance-oriented architecture. - Candidates should possess skills in Troubleshooting, including diagnosing performance bottlenecks, resolving errors, and supporting incident and problem management. - Candidates should possess skills in Replication, including setup, monitoring, and maintenance of PostgreSQL replication and high-availability configurations. - Relevant experience with backup and recovery, security hardening, and database monitoring tools. - Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments, shell scripting, and automation using tools such as Ansible or similar. - Experience working with cloud platforms and managed database services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is beneficial. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
