What we are looking for Role: Mongo DBA Experience Range: 4 to 6 Years Location: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad Must Have: 1. Strong core MongoDB DBA experience (MongoDB 6.x or above), including replica sets, sharding, backups, and restores. 2. Proficiency with MongoDB Ops Manager / Atlas, including monitoring, alerting, reporting, automation, and routine maintenance. 3. Expertise in MongoDB Replication, including replica sets, read/write concerns, elections, and high‑availability design. 4. Strong scripting and automation expertise using Bash, Python, or similar languages for database operations and automation. 5. Hands‑on experience with MongoDB Sharded Clusters, including shard key design, balancing, and horizontal scalability. 6. Installing, configuring, and maintaining MongoDB and Redis software across development, test, and production environments. 7. Hands‑on experience with database upgrades and migrations, including version upgrades, cluster topology changes, and data migration strategies. 8. Designing database storage structures with strong security controls, encryption at rest, and access management for MongoDB and Redis. 9. Hands‑on experience with patching, failover testing, and high‑availability activities for MongoDB replica sets and Redis Sentinel/Cluster. 10. Optimizing and altering data models and storage strategies to meet evolving scalability and performance requirements. Good to Have: 1. Database user and access management, including MongoDB RBAC, LDAP/AD integration, and Redis ACLs. 2. Training developers and users on data access patterns, query optimization, and MongoDB/Redis best practices. 3. Troubleshooting and debugging database or application issues impacting availability, consistency, and performance. 4. Creating and managing automated backups, including Ops Manager backups, snapshots, and point‑in‑time recovery (PITR). 5. Regularly updating and enforcing database security protocols, including TLS, encryption, authentication, and authorization. 6. Familiarity with MongoDB and Redis data modeling, query optimization, and documentation best practices. 7. Strong knowledge of backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies, including multi‑region and cross‑data‑center deployments. 8. Working knowledge of programming languages and APIs, including MongoDB drivers and Redis client libraries. 9. Strong operating system experience on Linux, including performance tuning, storage management, and troubleshooting. 10. Experience with MongoDB management and availability tools, including Ops Manager, Atlas automation, replica sets, and sharded clusters. 11. Data partitioning and sharding expertise, including shard‑key selection and workload distribution. 12. Hands‑on experience defining DB standards and translating capacity and performance requirements into scalable MongoDB and Redis deployments. 13. Strong production experience with MongoDB clusters, including high‑availability setups, sharding, and performance tuning. 14. Strong understanding of MongoDB query language and aggregation framework, as well as Redis commands, persistence models, and memory management. 15. Ownership of performance and capacity monitoring, including index optimization, cache utilization, slow query analysis, and replication lag monitoring. 16. Contribution to the design and maintenance of disaster recovery plans, including failover and recovery testing. 17. Design and maintenance of reliable backup strategies, ensuring regular backups and periodic restore validation. 18. Performance testing and evaluation, identifying bottlenecks such as slow queries, hot shards, locking, memory pressure, or replication delays. 19. Hands‑on experience with horizontally scalable MongoDB architectures, including sharded and geo‑distributed clusters. 20. Strong scripting and automation skills for provisioning, monitoring, backups, upgrades, and operational workflows. 21. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional technical teams. Essential: • Strong core MongoDB DBA experience (MongoDB 6.x or above), including replica sets, sharding, backups, and restores. • Proficiency with MongoDB Ops Manager / Atlas, including monitoring, alerting, reporting, automation, and routine maintenance. • Ability to upskill and track learning progress of team • Ability to attend / present weekly, monthly reports to clients • Familiar with enterprise ticketing system (Remedy). Minimum Qualification: • 15 years of full-time education • Minimum percentile of 50% in 10th, 12th, UG & PG (if applicable)
