Group Company: LeadSquared Designation: Software Engineer – Reporting Team Office Location: Bangalore (Onsite) Position description: LeadSquared is looking for a hands-on Software Engineer to join our Reporting Team. You will design, build, and maintain reporting systems and data pipelines that power critical business insights across the organization. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer with strong SQL fundamentals and hands-on experience with MySQL to grow across multiple database technologies. Primary Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain reporting applications, dashboards, and data pipelines • Write complex, optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for large-scale reporting needs • Work extensively with MySQL for schema design, query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization • Integrate and work with other databases/data stores (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redshift, Snowflake) as required • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all reports and dashboards • Monitor and troubleshoot production reporting systems, resolving performance bottlenecks and data issues • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and contribute to engineering best practices • Automate recurring reporting processes to reduce manual effort and improve turnaround time • Document database schemas, data flows, and reporting logic for maintainability Educational qualifications preferred • Field specialization: Computer Science / Engineering (or related field) • Degree: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent practical experience) Required work experience • Role: Software Engineer (Reporting / Data) • Years of experience: 0.5 – 2 years Required Knowledge: MySQL (schema design, query optimization, indexing), relational database concepts, data modeling (normalization, star/snowflake schemas) and basic exposure to other databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake) Required Skills: • Strong hands-on skills in MySQL — complex queries, joins, indexing basics, and query optimization • Working proficiency in a backend programming language (Python, Java, or Node.js) • Familiarity with Git Required Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to data accuracy, good communication skills, and eagerness to learn
