Role & responsibilities We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Engineer to join our team, focusing on the design, optimization, and management of chemical manufacturing processes, particularly within the specialty chemical and food-grade product lines. The ideal candidate will leverage expertise in chemical engineering principles to ensure processes are efficient, safe, environmentally compliant, and meet high-quality. Process Design and Optimization • Design, develop, and optimize industrial processes to enhance efficiency, quality, cost-effectiveness, and yield. • Develop and review process flow diagrams (PFDs) and complex Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs). • Conduct process simulations and model-based design studies to validate and improve process designs. • Perform material and energy balances for new and existing processes Manufacturing and Operations Support • Monitor and analyze process performance, ensuring operations run efficiently and maintain optimal operating conditions. • Troubleshoot complex process-related issues, conduct root cause analysis for failures, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime. • Develop and implement process control strategies to maintain product quality and consistency. • Assist in the selection, commissioning, and qualification of new process equipment. • Identify the improvement in process and plant and implement cost saving projects. Safety, Quality, and Compliance • Ensure all processes and process designs comply with safety standards, environmental regulations, and internal protocols, especially for food-grade manufacturing. • Conduct risk assessments (e.g., HAZOP) and implement necessary safety measures to mitigate potential hazards. • Develop and maintain detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and batch records for all processes. Continuous Improvement and Project Management • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, optimize production, and drive productivity gains. • Lead or assist in managing process engineering projects from concept to implementation, ensuring completion on time and within budget. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Production, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance, to ensure seamless process integration and scalability of new products. Education and Experience • Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) or Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Chemical Engineering. • 3 to 6 years of progressive experience in process engineering within the Specialty Chemical or Food Processing industry. • Strong understanding of chemical reactions, thermodynamics, mass/energy balances, and unit operations. • Knowledge of process safety regulations and standards Technical Skills • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, especially PFDs and P&IDs.43 • Familiarity with process simulation and modeling software (e.g., Aspen) will have added advantage. • Process calculations, equipment design calculations, etc. Interested candidates can share the CVs on lalita.yeware@aartigroup.com
