Position Details • Role: QA Engineer • Experience: 3- 6 Years • Location: Bengaluru • Department: Product & Engineering • Reports To: QA Lead / QA Manager Role Overview As a QA Engineer at DTDC, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of mission-critical logistics platforms, including first-mile, middle-mile and last-mile delivery systems and customer-facing applications. You will participate in designing and executing test scenarios, validating complex workflows across systems, and helping maintain high production quality in a fast-paced, high-scale logistics environment. Key Responsibilities 1. Test Design & Execution • Assist in creating and maintaining detailed test cases and regression suites based on product requirements. • Execute tests diligently across functional, integration, regression, and UAT scenarios. • Log, track, and manage defects with clear reproduction steps, screenshots, and impact analysis. 2. Functional & System Testing • Validate end-to-end logistics workflows, including: • Order Booking Node Allocation Routing Out-for-Delivery Delivery/Exception • Perform cross-system validation across multiple platforms such as branch systems, sorting systems, rider applications, and control tower dashboards. • Verify the correctness of core business rules including Estimated Delivery Date (EDD), capacity planning, routing logic, and reattempt handling. 3. API & Data Validation • Perform API testing using tools like Postman or similar. • Validate backend workflows, including shipment lifecycle events. • Use SQL queries to verify data consistency and troubleshoot issues across databases. 4. Collaboration & Quality Support • Work closely with Product Managers, Developers, and QA team members. • Participate in requirement discussions to understand product scope and identify potential gaps early. • Log clear test reports, share quality metrics, and flag risk areas to supervisors. • Participate in release validation activities and contribute data to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for production issues. • Contribute towards gradual test automation adoption and shift-left testing practices. Required Skills & Knowledge Core Testing Skills • Good understanding of functional, regression, integration, and system testing concepts. • Familiarity with executing end-to-end scenario validation. • Strong attention to detail with a focus on catching edge cases and failure scenarios. Technical Skills & Tools • Foundational knowledge of API testing using Postman or similar tools. • Knowledge of SQL (including joins, aggregations, and data validation). • Basic familiarity with microservices-based architecture and distributed systems. • Experience or familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools like JIRA or TestRail. • Exposure to API Automation. Domain Knowledge (Preferred) • Prior experience or academic projects related to logistics, supply chain, courier, or e-commerce platforms. • Basic understanding of middle-mile workflows. Soft Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Effective communication skills to collaborate efficiently across technical teams. Qualification • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Engineering / MCA or equivalent.
