Job Title: Senior CICS Technician Category: CICS Technician Location: Bengaluru Employment Type: Full Time Position ID: J0626-2085 Experience Required: 5–10+ Years **Job Summary** We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior CICS Technician to join our Mainframe Infrastructure and Middleware Services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, support, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of IBM CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) environments running on IBM z/OS Mainframe platforms. This role is critical to ensuring the availability, performance, security, and reliability of business critical transaction processing systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in CICS administration, Mainframe operations, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support within large scale enterprise environments. Key Responsibilities CICS Administration and Support - Administer, maintain, and support IBM CICS Transaction Server (CICS TS) environments across development, test, disaster recovery, and production systems. - Configure and manage CICS regions, transactions, programs, files, queues, and associated resources. - Perform CICS installations, upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities. - Manage region startups, shutdowns, and operational configurations. Production Support - Provide Level 2 and Level 3 support for CICS related incidents and service requests. - Troubleshoot transaction failures, region outages, performance issues, and application connectivity problems. - Participate in major incident management and critical outage resolution activities. - Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions. Performance Monitoring and Optimization - Monitor CICS performance, availability, and resource utilization. - Analyze workload patterns and transaction performance metrics. - Perform performance tuning to optimize response times, throughput, and system efficiency. - Support capacity planning and infrastructure optimization initiatives. Application and Middleware Support - Support application teams deploying and maintaining CICS based applications. - Assist with transaction definitions, program definitions, resource management, and application integration activities. - Collaborate with development teams to resolve application related issues impacting CICS environments. - Support integration with Db2, IMS, MQ, and other Mainframe technologies. Security and Compliance - Implement and maintain CICS security controls in coordination with RACF administrators. - Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements. - Support security audits and compliance reviews. - Review and maintain resource access permissions and security configurations. Change and Release Management - Execute approved changes following organizational change management processes. - Support application releases, migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes. - Conduct impact assessments, implementation validation, and post change reviews. - Maintain documentation of system configurations and changes. Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity - Support disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution activities. - Ensure recovery procedures are documented and regularly validated. - Participate in business continuity exercises and resilience initiatives. - Assist in service restoration during disaster recovery events. Automation and Continuous Improvement - Develop and maintain operational procedures, standards, and technical documentation. - Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational tasks. - Contribute to process improvement and operational excellence initiatives. - Support modernization and transformation projects involving Mainframe middleware technologies. Leadership and Collaboration - Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members. - Collaborate with infrastructure, database, security, network, and application teams. - Participate in architecture discussions and strategic technology initiatives. - Support enterprise wide projects and continuous improvement programs. **Required Qualifications** - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. - Minimum 5–10 years of experience supporting IBM CICS Transaction Server environments. - Exper
