Developer/Sr Developer - Design Systems **Team:** Design | **Location:** Bengaluru | Exp: 3-6 yrs As the Senior Developer for our Design System, you will be the primary steward of our shared visual language and component library. You will be instrumental in defining the strategy, governance, and evolution of our design system, ensuring it serves as a source of truth for all designers and developers. This role requires a leader who is passionate about both high-level strategy and the nitty-gritty details of component architecture. **What You'll Do** - **Architect & Build:** Lead the technical vision and implementation of our component library, design tokens, and documentation site. - **Ensure Quality:** Write clean, maintainable, and accessible code, and establish robust testing, CI/CD, and release pipelines. - **Enable Teams:** Act as a subject matter expert for engineers, providing guidance on how to integrate and contribute to the design system effectively. - **Bridge Disciplines:** Collaborate closely with product designers to translate their designs into reusable, well-documented components that meet our technical standards. - **Maintain & Evolve:** Own the maintenance and versioning of the design system packages, ensuring continuous improvement and backward compatibility. **What You'll Bring** - **Required Skills & Experience:** - **3+ years of experience** in front-end development, with a proven track record of successfully building and scaling a design system from the ground up. - Deep expertise in **JavaScript/TypeScript** , modern front-end frameworks like **React** or **Angular** , and styling solutions (e.g., CSS-in-JS). - Strong knowledge of **component-driven development** and a deep understanding of web accessibility standards ( **WCAG** ). - Experience with **CI/CD pipelines** , version control (Git), and modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite). **Preferred Skills & Attributes:** - Experience with **tokenization** and building a **headless design system** . - A passion for creating exceptional developer experiences and building internal tools that improve engineering efficiency. - Familiarity with visual design principles and collaboration with design tools like Figma. - A master in interaction development, micro animation on components, intense level of detail. - Work primarily with Designers and build the design system ground up. - This person will fully own and manage design systems development cycles end to end.
