Job Description Senior Resident (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) Position Senior Resident Obstetrics & Gynaecology Department Obstetrics & Gynaecology Reports To Consultant / HOD Obstetrics & Gynaecology Qualification • MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in Obstetrics & Gynaecology from a recognized institution. • Valid National Medical Commission (NMC) registration. • BLS/ACLS certification (preferred). Experience • 03 years of experience as a Senior Resident or equivalent in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. • Experience in managing high-risk pregnancies, labour room, obstetric emergencies, and gynaecological procedures in a tertiary care hospital is preferred. Key Responsibilities • Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. • Assess, diagnose, and manage antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal patients. • Conduct normal and assisted vaginal deliveries and assist in Caesarean sections and other obstetric surgeries. • Evaluate and manage gynaecological disorders, emergencies, and post-operative patients. • Assist consultants in elective and emergency gynaecological surgeries. • Participate in labour room, emergency, OPD, ward, and OT duties as per the duty roster. • Monitor high-risk pregnancies and manage obstetric emergencies such as PPH, eclampsia, and preterm labour under consultant supervision. • Maintain accurate clinical documentation, medical records, discharge summaries, and procedure notes. • Counsel patients and families regarding treatment plans, procedures, and preventive healthcare. • Coordinate with Neonatology, Anaesthesia, ICU, Radiology, and other departments for multidisciplinary patient care. • Supervise and guide Junior Residents, interns, and nursing staff. • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, infection control protocols, NABH standards, and patient safety guidelines. • Participate in CMEs, academic activities, audits, mortality and morbidity meetings, and departmental quality improvement initiatives. • Undertake night duties, emergency calls, and rotational shifts as assigned.
