Job Title: COBOL+SQL Developer Position: Software Engineer Experience: 4- 8 Years Category: Software Development/ Engineering Shift: 1 PM – 10 PM Main location: Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai Position ID: Employment Type: Full Time Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or higher with minimum 4 years of relevant experience. Position Description: We are looking for an experienced COBOL+ SQL Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about coding and developing scalable and high-performance applications. You will work closely with our clients, designers, and other members of the team to deliver quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients. **Your future duties and responsibilities** Responsibilities: - Design, develop and maintain COBOL-based applications. - Develop and implement efficient algorithms. - Perform ETL activities using SQL queries - Install, upgrade and test components - Ensure performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications. - Identify and troubleshoot software defects and issues. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. - Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and standards are met - Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in software development **Required qualifications to be successful in this role** Must-Have Skills: - Strong proficiency in COBOL and SQL - Familiarity with version control systems such as Git - Experience with agile development methodologies and DevOps practices - Should be able to perform tasks like Designing, developing, deploying & testing. - Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills - Strong communication and collaboration skills #LI-SP40 CGI is an equal opportunity employer.
