Sagility has more than 25,000 employees across 5 countries. **Job title:** Senior Software Engineer - Python **Job Description:** **Experience Required:** Minimum 4 years ### **Role Overview** We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer with at least 4 years of professional software development experience. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Python backend development, asynchronous programming, API design, real-time communication, and event-driven systems. ### **Key Responsibilities** - Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python. - Build real-time communication features using WebSockets and frameworks such as FastAPI or Django Channels. - Work with Redis Streams for event-driven data processing, messaging, and asynchronous workflows. - Manage database schema changes and migrations using tools such as Alembic or Django migrations. - Design, implement, and optimize ORM-based data models and database queries. - Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure code quality, reliability, and maintainability. - Use Git for version control and Docker for containerized development and deployment. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable system architectures and improve CI/CD practices. - Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance across backend services and infrastructure components. - Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement of engineering practices. ### **Required Qualifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. - Minimum 4 years of professional experience in backend or software development. - Strong proficiency in Python and asynchronous programming using async/await. - Hands-on experience with backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or similar. - Experience with Git, Docker, unit testing, and ORM frameworks such as SQLAlchemy or Django ORM. - Familiarity with Redis Streams and WebSockets for real-time or event-driven applications. - Good understanding of database design, schema management, and migration tools. - Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs or microservices-based applications. - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment on AWS, GCP, or Azure. ### **Preferred Qualifications** - Exposure to monitoring, logging, and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar. - Experience working in Agile or fast-paced product engineering environments. - Understanding of scalable system design and distributed application patterns. ### **Soft Skills** - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and collaboration abilities. - Ability to work independently as well as within a team. - Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a growing engineering team. **Location:** BangaloreIndia
