The business develops products and platforms used by telecom operators, cloud providers, hyperscalers, and enterprise networks. Role Purpose We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Software Engineer to join the 1Finity engineering team. The apprentice will work closely with experienced software engineers on the development, testing, automation, and maintenance of next-generation optical networking and infrastructure management solutions. This role provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in software development, networking technologies, system integration, automation, and cloud-native platforms while working in a global engineering environment. Key Responsibilities • Support software development, testing, debugging, and maintenance activities. • Assist in developing backend services, utilities, and automation scripts. • Participate in software design discussions and code reviews. • Contribute to feature implementation under guidance from senior engineers. • Support API integration, data processing, and system monitoring activities. • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving software defects. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for software validation and testing. • Learn and apply software engineering best practices, coding standards, and Agile methodologies. • Support CI/CD, automation, and cloud-based development initiatives where applicable. Required Qualifications • BE/B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related disciplines. • Strong academic background. • Good understanding of programming fundamentals and data structures. • Knowledge of Python, C++, Java, or similar programming languages. • Understanding of software development lifecycle concepts. • Familiarity with Linux environment. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Good communication and collaboration abilities. Preferred Skills • Python development. • REST APIs and web technologies. • SQL and database fundamentals. • Git version control. • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). • Basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS). • Container technologies such as Docker. • Exposure to AI/ML, automation, or data analytics would be an added advantage.
