Sr. Engineer - Lab Quality and Calibration

Job description

Role & responsibilities • Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 standards and NABL accreditation requirements • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) • Develop, update, and manage key documentation such as quality manuals, procedures, and test records • Support and coordinate internal, external, and surveillance audits, including NABL assessments • Investigate non-conformities, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions • Monitor and support inter-laboratory comparisons and proficiency testing activities • Validate and verify test methods to ensure accuracy and reliability • Plan, schedule, and oversee calibration activities for all test equipment and instruments • Ensure traceability of measurements to national and international standards • Maintain calibration records, certificates, and uncertainty budgets • Collaborate with accredited external calibration laboratories as required • Evaluate calibration results and ensure instruments meet defined tolerances • Conduct internal audits and identify risks and improvement opportunities • Manage document control systems, including versioning, approvals, and record retention • Support training and competency development for laboratory personnel • Engage with customers and regulatory bodies to address quality and compliance-related queries • Participate in technical discussions and client audits as needed Preferred candidate profile • Bachelors degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field • Strong understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 standards and NABL accreditation processes • Experience working with laboratory quality systems and calibration management • Knowledge of measurement uncertainty and traceability principles • Effective documentation, audit handling, and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart: • Experience in NABL-accredited laboratories or similar testing environments • Familiarity with EMC, Safety, and Environmental testing standards (such as IEC, CISPR, UL) • Certification or formal training in ISO/IEC 17025 • Exposure to inter-laboratory comparisons and proficiency testing programs • Experience coordinating with external accredited calibration agencies
