Job Description What You'll Do We are seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to oversee payroll operations across EMEA and India, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery in a complex global environment. This role serves as the regional payroll subject matter expert and is responsible for the delivery, governance, compliance, and optimization of payroll operations across multiple countries. Payroll Operations • Own end-to-end payroll delivery across assigned EMEA countries and India. • Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including gross-to-net calculations, payments, taxes, statutory deductions, benefits, and reporting. • Manage payroll calendars, approvals, funding requirements, and operational controls. • Monitor payroll performance and service levels while ensuring a high-quality employee experience. • Support employee payroll inquiries and issue resolution. Compliance & Risk Management • Maintain expertise in payroll legislation, taxation, social security, and statutory requirements across EMEA and India. • Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements and payroll governance standards. • Partner with Tax, Legal, HR, and external advisors to assess regulatory changes and mitigate payroll-related risks. • Support payroll audits, reconciliations, and ongoing compliance activities. Vendor Management • Manage relationships with third-party payroll providers and local payroll partners. • Establish and monitor SLAs, KPIs, escalation processes, and service quality standards. • Lead issue resolution and root-cause analysis for payroll-related challenges. • Support payroll vendor assessments, implementations, transitions, and RFP processes. Stakeholder Leadership • Serve as the primary payroll SME for EMEA and India. • Partner closely with HR, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Benefits, HRIS, and IT teams. • Communicate payroll risks, recommendations, and operational updates to key stakeholders. • Build strong partnerships with regional business leaders to ensure alignment and compliance. Systems & Continuous Improvement • Support optimization of payroll technologies and integrations, including Workday, payroll platforms, time and attendance systems, and financial systems. • Ensure payroll data integrity, controls, and interface accuracy across systems. • Participate in payroll system implementations, upgrades, testing, and enhancements. • Drive automation, standardization, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives to improve payroll accuracy, efficiency, scalability, and employee experience.
