Job Purpose The Assistant Manager /Manager Supply Chain is responsible for supervising and coordinating Distribution Center (DC) operations during an assigned shift, ensuring smooth execution of allocated inbound / outbound / inventory / DCD / RPA operations. The role is responsible for team productivity, escalation management, safety compliance, and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) across DC operations. Role & responsibilities Shift & People Management • Plan, allocate, and supervise manpower deployment based on shift rosters and workload forecasts. • Ensure all functions within the shift are staffed, aligned, and operating efficiently. • Act as the first-level escalation point for operational or system-related issues. • Drive shift productivity targets and ensure timely shift handovers with accurate reporting. • Conduct toolbox talks, shift briefings, and safety compliance checks. Inbound Operations • Ensure timely receipt of consignments as per inward plan. • Supervise unloading, GRN (Goods Receipt Note) creation, and put-away process. • Ensure correct documentation, barcoding, and binning in the system. • Coordinate with security and admin for dock allocations and safety during unloading. Outbound Operations • Execute pick, pack, and dispatch activities based on order schedules. • Supervise picklist distribution, pick confirmation, and handover to dispatch. • Ensure timely vehicle docking and loading as per routing and cut-off timelines. • Monitor packaging standards and final shipment documentation. Inventory Control • Oversee real-time system updates of stock movement across functions. • Ensure adherence to FIFO/FEFO principles. • Support execution of daily cycle counts, location audits, and variance resolution. • Identify and report damages or mis-picks for correction. DCD Operations • Monitor real-time dashboards for order processing and fulfilment accuracy. • Ensure shift-wise adherence to service level KPIs and order status updates. • Coordinate with tech and operations teams to resolve order-related exceptions. • Track and report aging orders, open tasks, and escalate delays as necessary. RPA Operations • Supervise the receipt, inspection, and system booking of returned goods. • Classify returns (resalable/damaged/scrap and update status in the system. • Coordinate with inventory for put-back of approved stock. • Ensure timely resolution of customer-initiated return cases. Preferred candidate profile • Minimum 46 years of experience with 12 years in a supervisory or lead role in Distribution Center (DC) Operations • Bachelors degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Logistics Management, or a related field
