**AVP – Engineering** **Location: Bengaluru** **Experience: 15–20 years** **About LeadSquared** LeadSquared is a rapidly growing SaaS platform powering high-velocity sales execution across global industries, including BFSI, Education, Healthcare, and Marketplaces. We build large-scale, mission-critical systems focused on performance, reliability, and innovation. To support our next phase of growth, we are expanding our engineering leadership team. **Role Overview** We are looking for an AVP – Engineering who brings strong leadership experience along with exposure to multiple technology stacks, including Java, .NET, cloud platforms, and modern databases. This is a technology-agnostic leadership role, focused on engineering excellence, system scalability, and building high performing teams. **Key Responsibilities** **Engineering Leadership & Delivery** • Lead multiple engineering teams across backend, frontend, and platform groups. • Drive the design and delivery of scalable SaaS systems using Java, .NET, and cloud-native architectures. • Translate business requirements into actionable engineering roadmaps. • Ensure engineering best practices across coding, architecture, testing, performance, DevOps, and security. **Technical Strategy & Architecture** • Provide architectural guidance across services built using Java and .NET stacks. • Oversee the design and optimisation of relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis). • Drive cloud strategy and adoption across AWS/Azure/GCP for scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency. • Evaluate new technologies and tools that improve engineering velocity and product performance. **People & Culture Leadership** • Mentor engineering managers, architects, and senior engineers; build a strong leadership pipeline. • Develop a culture of ownership, innovation, collaboration, and engineering excellence. • Drive hiring, competency building, and career development across the engineering organisation. **Operational & Delivery Excellence** • Own engineering KPIs: uptime, quality, incident response, velocity, release cadence, cloud cost optimisation. • Establish strong observability, monitoring, and disaster recovery practices. • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and automation. **Cross-Functional Collaboration** • Partner with Product, Design, QA, Security, Data, and Business teams to deliver high-impact solutions. • Influence product roadmap priorities based on engineering feasibility and strategic outcomes. • Represent engineering in leadership discussions and customer conversations when required. **Required Skills & Experience** **Technical Background** • Strong experience with Java and .NET ecosystems (hands-on background earlier in career is preferred). • Expertise in database design, tuning, and scaling (SQL & NoSQL). • Solid understanding of cloud architectures and cloud-native practices (AWS/Azure/GCP). • Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, performance engineering, and secure development. **Leadership** • 15–20 years of total experience, with 5+ years leading engineering managers and multiple teams. • Proven success in scaling engineering organisations in fast-paced SaaS or product environments. • Strong decision-making, stakeholder communication, and strategic thinking. • Ability to balance technical depth with business outcomes. **Why LeadSquared?** • Build and scale a global SaaS platform used by thousands of enterprises. • High ownership, freedom to innovate, and a performance-driven culture. • Opportunity to shape engineering strategy and work with world-class product teams. • Competitive compensation and accelerated career growth.
