Job Purpose • Revamp cost accounting processes by instituting efficient procedures and rigorous controls, ensuring meticulous and timely financial reporting that aligns with industry standards and regulatory requirements. • Enhance efficiency and accuracy in revenue recognition procedures, ensuring seamless financial reporting and compliance with industry standards • Provide in-depth analysis and strategic insights derived from comprehensive cost-related data, empowering organizational stakeholders to make data-driven decisions that optimize resource allocation and enhance overall operational performance. Key Accountabilities • Prepare and review financial statements and reports in adherence to GAAP/IFRS standards, focusing on cost-related metrics and performance indicators. • Manage the financial close processes on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, ensuring adherence to reporting timelines and accuracy of financial data. • Manage the monthly and annual cost accounting close processes, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all transactions in the general ledger. • Review and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and inventory accounts, identifying discrepancies and ensuring completeness and accuracy. • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of cost accounting processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations. • Perform variance analysis of cost-related elements, providing insights into budget-to-actual variances and recommending corrective actions as necessary. • Identify opportunities for process improvements within cost accounting practices, driving efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and streamline cost accounting procedures. • Participate in financial audits, providing support and documentation related to cost accounting processes and controls. Educational and Experience Requirements • Must be a Chartered Accountant Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • 1-3 years of progressive experience in financial reporting & accounting, preferably in the airline industry or a related field. • Experience in leading cost accounting teams or projects. • Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
