Job description

**Responsibilities** - Lead the end-to-end execution of hydropower projects in Bhutan, ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards. - Oversee civil construction activities, ensuring adherence to engineering specifications, safety protocols, and environmental standards. - Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring cost optimization and financial discipline. - Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring smooth operational continuity. - Provide technical guidance and supervision to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders. - Drive contract management, including negotiation, execution, and compliance monitoring. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals with organizational objectives. - Monitor and report on project progress, ensuring transparency and accountability. - Foster relationships with local authorities, regulatory bodies, and community stakeholders to ensure project alignment with regional requirements. - Champion innovation and best practices in hydropower project execution and operations. - Represent Adani Group in Bhutan, ensuring all activities align with the Adani–Bhutan strategic hydropower partnership and Bhutan’s 2040 Renewable Energy Roadmap. - Lead the establishment and operationalization of the Thimphu corporate headquarters and the Chukha site office, including ICT infrastructure, conference facilities, and staffing. - Oversee logistics for project execution, including transport arrangements for key personnel, warehousing and material staging and coordination of border logistics. - Recruit and manage skilled local professionals; empanel local agencies for employment, legal, audit, and survey services; and appoint a clearing agent for imported equipment. - Proactively engage with Bhutanese ministries, DGPC, Department of Hydropower & Power Systems, and other key agencies to facilitate project approvals, permits, and regulatory compliance. - Arrange and manage high-level meetings, courtesy calls, and ceremonial engagements with government officials, dignitaries, and local institutions. - Develop and maintain a catalogue of protocol gift items and manage public relations activities, including travel, hospitality, and accommodation for visiting teams and dignitaries. - Champion Adani’s sustainability initiatives and ensure alignment with Bhutan’s environmental conservation efforts. - Facilitate access to Indian energy markets for power offtake and support regional integration for sustainable energy trade. - Promote local job creation, enterprise growth, and community engagement as part of the project’s broader impact. **Qualifications** - Proven track record of 25+ years in civil execution and construction of large-scale hydropower projects. - Extensive experience in budgeting, operations, and risk management within the energy sector. - Demonstrated expertise in technical supervision and contract management. **Educational Background** - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. - Master’s degree in Project Management or Business Administration (preferred). **Years & Type Of Experience** - 25+ years of experience in hydropower project execution and operations. - Significant exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects in challenging geographical terrains.
