Job description

We are looking for a skilled COBOL Developer with strong experience in DB2 and working knowledge of AS400 systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing legacy applications, ensuring performance, and supporting critical business systems. Key Responsibilities • Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using COBOL • Work extensively with DB2 databases (queries, stored procedures, performance tuning) • Analyze, debug, and resolve production issues in legacy systems • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand requirements • Perform code reviews, testing, and documentation • Support batch processing and job scheduling environments • Ensure system reliability, performance, and data integrity Required Skills • Strong hands-on experience in COBOL programming • Proficiency in DB2 (SQL queries, database design, optimization) • Good understanding of JCL (Job Control Language) • Experience working with mainframe environments • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills Preferred Skills • Basic knowledge or exposure to AS400 (IBM i) • Experience with CICS or batch processing systems • Familiarity with legacy system modernization initiatives • Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) • Skills Required Skill Level Requirement JCL Professional Mandatory COBOL Professional Mandatory AS400 Exposure-must Entry-Level Mandatory DB2 Professional Mandatory
