Responsibilities • Firmware Development for Inverter/Drive Control • Develop and release stable, efficient, and optimized firmware for inverter-based compressor and fan motor drives. • Implement motor control algorithms such as FOC, Sine PWM, Space Vector PWM (SVPWM), soft-start, protection logic, and dynamic load handling. • Control Algorithm Implementation Optimization • Design, tune, and optimize control loops (current loop, speed loop, torque control, DC bus control). • Improve efficiency, switching performance, and thermal behaviour through firmware optimization. • Firmware Integration With System Controller • Ensure seamless handshaking between inverter drive and main logic controller (communication protocols, signal mapping, error handling). • Release interface specifications and communication test reports. • Protection Diagnostic Logic Development • Implement inverter protection algorithms such as: • Over-current, over-voltage, under-voltage • Compressor stall, phase loss, rotor lock • Over-temperature protection for power devices • Develop diagnostic features, fault logging, and recovery procedures. • Functional Parametric Testing • Prepare and execute firmware validation test cases on real hardware (compressor rigs, fan motors, inverter bench). • Validate performance under different loads, temperatures, operating modes, and power quality conditions. • Support system-level EMI/EMC and safety testing. • Tuning Calibration • Perform inverter tuning for different compressor and fan motor models. • Generate tuning documents, calibration files, and release notes for production use. • Validate tuning consistency across multiple units. • Firmware Documentation Release Management • Prepare firmware specifications, architecture documents, and revision notes. • Ensure proper version control, configuration management, and release procedures. • Debugging Issue Resolution • Debug issues during prototype testing, field trials, and production. • Perform root cause analysis for inverter performance issues, noise, heating, oscillation, and protection triggers. • Release corrective firmware updates within defined timelines. • Continuous Improvement Innovation • Introduce new control strategies, efficiency improvements, and algorithm enhancements. • Develop self-diagnostic features to reduce service costs and improve system reliability.
