Deputy Manager-Mechanical (SIP/HBI Plant)

Job description

Position: Deputy Manager Mechanical (SIP/HBI Plant) Department: Mechanical Job Purpose- To ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical equipment in the SIP/HBI (DRI) Plant by executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities, improving equipment reliability, and minimizing plant downtime while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities • Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of rotating and static equipment. • Carry out overhauling and troubleshooting of critical equipment such as VS2 valves, rotary valves, centrifugal pumps, fans, hydraulic systems, briquetting machines, pressure vessels, and process towers. • Improve equipment reliability through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), MTBF improvement, and downtime reduction. • Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules, SOPs, OEM guidelines, and SAP PM documentation. • Support shutdown planning, equipment commissioning, and reliability improvement initiatives. • Ensure compliance with EHS standards, ESG requirements, and maintenance documentation. • Mentor technicians and support skill development within the maintenance team. Experience • 8-10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance of DRI/SIP, steel, power, cement, or other continuous process industries. • Hands-on experience in maintenance of centrifugal pumps, fans, VS2 valves, rotary valves, and solid handling equipment is mandatory.
