Job description

**Position:** Deputy Manager Mechanical (SIP/HBI Plant) **Department:** Mechanical **Job Purpose-** To ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of mechanical equipment in the SIP/HBI (DRI) Plant by executing preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities, improving equipment reliability, and minimizing plant downtime while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. **Key Responsibilities** - Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of rotating and static equipment. - Carry out overhauling and troubleshooting of critical equipment such as VS2 valves, rotary valves, centrifugal pumps, fans, hydraulic systems, briquetting machines, pressure vessels, and process towers. - Improve equipment reliability through Root Cause Analysis (RCA), MTBF improvement, and downtime reduction. - Ensure adherence to maintenance schedules, SOPs, OEM guidelines, and SAP PM documentation. - Support shutdown planning, equipment commissioning, and reliability improvement initiatives. - Ensure compliance with EHS standards, ESG requirements, and maintenance documentation. - Mentor technicians and support skill development within the maintenance team. **Experience** - **8-10 years** of experience in mechanical maintenance of DRI/SIP, steel, power, cement, or other continuous process industries. - Hands-on experience in maintenance of centrifugal pumps, fans, VS2 valves, rotary valves, and solid handling equipment is mandatory. **Required Skills** - Mechanical maintenance of rotating equipment - Equipment troubleshooting and overhaul - Preventive & Predictive Maintenance - SAP PM - Reading P&IDs, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals - Root Cause Analysis (RCA) - Vibration analysis (preferred) - Strong safety orientation and problem-solving skills
