Job Description Implement, monitor, and continuously improve Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) systems across renewable energy sites, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, company standards, and Torrent Group EHS expectations while promoting a zero-harm safety culture. Key Responsibilities: Health & Safety Management • Implement and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and management systems at renewable energy sites. • Ensure compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, and company safety requirements. • Conduct safety inspections, audits, and workplace risk assessments. • Develop and monitor site-specific HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment). • Ensure implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems for high-risk activities. • Monitor work at height, electrical safety, lifting operations, and contractor activities. • Conduct incident, accident, and near-miss investigations and implement corrective actions. • Maintain emergency preparedness and response plans. • Conduct regular fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency simulations. Environmental Management • Ensure compliance with environmental laws, permits, and company environmental standards. • Monitor waste management, hazardous waste disposal, pollution prevention, and resource conservation activities. • Promote sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency, and environmental awareness programs. • Conduct environmental inspections and report environmental performance indicators. Training & Awareness • Conduct site safety inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors. • Deliver toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and awareness programs. • Organize emergency mock drills and evacuation exercises. • Develop competency-building programs related to EHS requirements. Compliance & Documentation • Maintain EHS records, statutory registers, permits, and reports. • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements. • Prepare monthly EHS performance reports and dashboards. • Coordinate internal and external EHS audits. • Track closure of audit findings and corrective actions. Contractor Safety Management • Conduct contractor safety audits and inspections. • Verify competency, certifications, and compliance before work execution. • Monitor contractor adherence to site safety requirements. Renewable Energy Site-Specific Responsibilities Solar Plants • Monitor electrical safety during project, commissioning activities. • Manage work at height & material handling activities. • Monitor heat stress management and outdoor work safety practices. Wind Farms • Manage work-at-height safety during turbine erection. • Ensure pre commissioning safety protocols are adhered , rescue plan is in place. • Verify lifting and crane operation safety compliance. Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) • Implement safety measures for battery handling and storage. • Monitor fire safety systems and emergency response plans. • Ensure compliance with hazardous material management requirements. Education • Bachelors degree in electrical/ mechanical/ civil engineering, Post Graduate Diploma In Industrial Safety (PDIS) or ADIS (Advanced Diploma In Industrial Safety). Any other government approved Occupational Health & Safety course. Certifications (Preferred) • IOSH Managing Safely • NEBOSH • ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor
