Job Summary The Manager Emergency Medicine (MEM) is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring high-quality patient care, clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and adherence to hospital policies and quality standards. The role involves coordinating with multidisciplinary teams for effective emergency services delivery and patient management. Key Responsibilities • Manage and supervise Emergency Department operations on a 24x7 basis. • Ensure timely assessment, stabilization, and treatment of emergency patients. • Coordinate with consultants, nursing staff, and support departments for seamless patient care. • Monitor clinical outcomes, patient safety standards, and quality indicators. • Ensure compliance with NABH, hospital protocols, and statutory requirements. • Lead emergency response initiatives and disaster management preparedness. • Manage manpower planning, duty rosters, and departmental productivity. • Conduct clinical audits, morbidity and mortality reviews, and quality improvement initiatives. • Train and mentor emergency physicians, nurses, and paramedical staff. • Handle patient grievances and ensure high patient satisfaction. • Prepare departmental reports, MIS, and performance metrics. • Participate in hospital accreditation and quality improvement programs. Qualification Essential: • MBBS from a recognized Medical College. • MD/DNB in Emergency Medicine. • MEM Preferred: • Fellowship in Emergency Medicine / Critical Care. • Certification in ACLS, ATLS, BLS, PALS. Experience • 5-10 years of post-qualification experience in Emergency Medicine. • Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership/managerial role in a reputed hospital. • Experience in handling high-volume Emergency Departments preferred.
