The company markets its products under its two global brands – Apollo and Vredestein, and its products are available in over 100 countries through a vast network of branded, exclusive and multi-product outlets. **Job Title**: Group Manager - Global Ocean Freight **Location**: Gurgaon **Reports to (Position)**: Head – Supply Chain Procurement **Department/Function**: Supply Chain **Purpose of the Job**: - Purpose of this role is to ensure manage end to end Global Ocean Freight. **Major Responsibilities**: - Responsible for framing and implementing Ocean Freight Strategy. - Implement and Manage RFQ Process for Ocean Freight Procurement for all lanes. - Conduct RFQ and Freight rate negotiations with Freight Forwarders for worldwide lanes - Bulk Lanes like India to US / Europe, Europe to US etc. - Oversee the RFQ process for lanes with ad hoc volumes like India to MEA, Africa, ASEAN, SAARC, LatAm and Europe to LatAm, MEA etc. - Driving SOB for International Freight for various vendors ie., Freight Forwarders, CHA, Transporters etc. - Manage the governance process for Global Ocean Freight incl. contract management, KPI and performance reviews. - Responsible for Global Ocean Freight Budget to maintain within business objectives. - Setting up new business lanes as per evolving business requirements - Publish fortnightly newsletter to keep all stakeholders informed on the latest relevant industry events. - Offtake Management for NR and other products. **Measurable Parameters:** - Ocean Freight Budget Management. - Governance of Ocean Freight. - Freight Forwarder Relationship Management. - Benchmark with Drewery Freight Index. **Skills** : - Analytical Skills. - Customer Focus. - Problem Solving and Decision Making. - Managing uncertainties in an external environment. - Track record of innovation - Introduction of new process - Proven record of radical cost reduction. - Up to date with latest technology in SCM Management. **Relevant Experience**: 12 to 15 years of overall experience in Global Ocean Freight management. Experience should include some cross functional exposure such as manufacturing, sales planning, and forecasting, logistics, commercial etc. **Education Qualification(s)** : - BE/ MBA [from Premier Institute] in Supply Chain Management. - Knowledge (Technical / Functional) - Knowledge latest trends in logistics management - Ocean Freight. - Procurement Process - Cost reduction projects - Knowledge of TQM tools. - Knowledge of digital platforms.
