Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled **IT Analyst / Technical Business Analyst** with a strong background in the **Claims domain** and added advantage in hands-on expertise in **API frameworks** and **API testing tools**. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical execution, ensuring successful delivery of technology solutions that support claims operations. The candidate should also bring a strong understanding of databases, systems integration, and metrics interpretation to drive efficiency and innovation in claims processes. **Key Responsibilities:** **Claims Domain Expertise:** - Work closely with the Claims team to gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into technical solutions. - Would be able to write **User Stories in JIRA .** - Understanding of full **claims lifecycle** from intimation till payment. - Identify areas for automation, system enhancements, and digital transformation within claims workflows. - Ensure that solutions adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards in the claims domain. **API Framework and Testing Tools Proficiency:** - Design and test APIs related to claims processing using tools like **Postman**, **Insomnia**, **Swagger**, or **cURL**. - Collaborate with developers and third-party vendors to ensure seamless API integrations with claims platforms and other core systems. - Document API endpoints, manage collections, and support end-to-end testing processes. - Utilize API testing tools to simulate real-world scenarios, ensuring APIs are efficient, secure, and meet functional requirements. **Technical & System Analysis:** - Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to ensure solutions meet claims business needs. - Perform system analysis and support solution design for claims modernization and integration projects. - Participate in technical discussions to provide domain context and clarify business logic. - Ensure technical feasibility of proposed solutions and communicate potential risks. **Database and Architecture Understanding:** - Understand and analyze claims data stored across various database systems. - Collaborate with engineering teams to design scalable and efficient database models for claims data management. - Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory standards in claims reporting. - Optimize data structures to improve claims processing efficiency. **Metrics & Reporting:** - Define and track **KPIs** for claims performance (e.g., claims cycle time, accuracy, resolution rates). - Leverage analytical tools to extract insights and recommend process improvements. - Support the development of dashboards and reports that provide real-time visibility into claims operations. - Utilize data-driven insights to influence decisions and recommend solutions for improving claims handling. **Project & Product Collaboration:** - Contribute to the creation of product and system roadmaps from a claims perspective. - Engage in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to ensure smooth project execution. - Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of new features related to claims. - Ensure alignment of technical solutions with business priorities and claims objectives. **Qualifications and Experience:** - **Bachelors** or **Masters** degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. - 3–5 years of experience in a technical analyst or business analyst role, preferably within the Motor **insurance claims or healthcare claims** domain. - Strong hands-on experience with **API testing tools** (e.g., **Insomnia**, **Swagger**, or **cURL**). - Proficient in **SQL** and understanding of relational database architecture. - Experience working with cross-functional teams including claims adjusters, developers, and QA. - Added advantage – for understanding of **SDLC**, **agile methodologies**, and system implementation lifecycles. - Excellent documentation, problem-solving, and communication skills. - Experience with **claims platforms** (e.g., **Guidewire**, **Duck Creek**, **Facets**, or custom-built systems) is a plus. **Preferred Skills:** - Strong analytical thinking with an eye for detail and process optimization. - Experience in defining **user stories**, **test cases**, and coordinating **UAT**. - Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements for claims processing. - Familiarity with **AI** or **automation tools** used in claims processing (e.g., fraud detection, claims triage). - Experience with **machine learning** applications for claims (e.g., predictive modeling).
