**About the Business** Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components. Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence. The Tata Group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with the mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long term stakeholder value creation based on leadership with Trust.’ The **Asset & CMDB** Lead is responsible for leading the organization's IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) functions. This role ensures effective governance, lifecycle management, compliance, and optimization of IT assets while maintaining an accurate and reliable CMDB that supports Incident, Change, Problem, Security, and Service Management processes. The position serves as the single point of accountability for asset inventory accuracy, software and hardware lifecycle management, CMDB governance, service mapping, discovery, and continuous improvement initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** **IT Asset Management** - Define and implement IT Asset Management policies, processes, and governance frameworks. - Manage the complete lifecycle of hardware, software, cloud, and digital assets. - Maintain accurate asset inventories across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. - Track asset procurement, deployment, utilization, refresh, and retirement. - Ensure software license compliance and optimize software usage and costs. - Conduct periodic asset audits and reconciliations. - Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Security, and Operations teams. - Drive asset cost optimization initiatives and identify savings opportunities. - Prepare asset-related reports, compliance metrics, and executive dashboards. **CMDB & Configuration Management** - Own and manage the Configuration Management process and CMDB strategy. - Establish and maintain CMDB governance, standards, and policies. - Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of Configuration Items (CIs). - Maintain CI relationships and service mappings. - Implement and manage Discovery and Service Mapping solutions. - Monitor CMDB health and data quality through KPIs and compliance reports. - Conduct regular CMDB audits, certifications, and reconciliation activities. - Support impact analysis for Change, Incident, Problem, and Risk Management processes. - Lead CMDB enhancements and automation initiatives. **Process Governance & Compliance** - Ensure alignment with ITIL best practices. - Define data ownership and accountability across technology domains. - Support regulatory, security, and internal audit requirements. - Establish controls to maintain asset and configuration data accuracy. - Conduct governance reviews and process maturity assessments. **Leadership & Stakeholder Management** - Lead and mentor Asset Management and CMDB teams. - Manage relationships with business stakeholders and technology owners. - Drive continuous service improvement initiatives. - Present operational metrics and strategic recommendations to leadership. - Coordinate with vendors and managed service providers. **Required Skills** - Strong expertise in **IT Asset Management (ITAM)** and **Configuration Management** . - Hands-on experience with: - ServiceNow ITAM & CMDB - ServiceNow Discovery - Service Mapping - Asset Lifecycle Management - Knowledge of: - Azure, AWS, and Hybrid Cloud environments - Servers, Networks, Storage, Databases, and Applications - Software Asset Management (SAM) - Discovery and inventory tools - Data governance and reconciliation methodologies - Experience with integrations, APIs, and automation workflows. **Qualifications** - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field. - 5–8 years of IT Operations, ITSM, ITAM, or CMDB experience. - Minimum 5 years of experience leading Asset Management and/or CMDB functions. - Experience working in enterprise-scale environments.
