**Product Champion – Property & Engineering** Digit Central Team — Agency & Retail Brokers Strategy & Central Sales **Role** Product Champion – Property & Engineering **Function** Digit Central Team — Agency & Retail Brokers Strategy & Central Sales **Location** Bengaluru (Atlantis) **Experience** 3–5 years in Property & Engineering insurance **Employment** Full-time Role Summary The Product Champion will own and centrally drive the Property & Engineering line of business across Digit’s agency and retail broking sales network. Acting as the single point of expertise for the LOB, this person will be the bridge between the field sales teams and underwriting — clarifying guidelines, communicating sales strategy, and championing doable risks back to underwriting with sound technical logic. The goal: faster, sharper, more confident P&E selling across the country. Key Responsibilities **Drive the LOB centrally** - Own the P&E LOB agenda for the central sales team and translate product strategy into actionable field guidance. - Track LOB performance, identify gaps and opportunities, and drive corrective action with sales and underwriting. **Enable & support the sales network** - Be the go-to resource for all internal sales colleagues on P&E — resolving doubts on product guidelines, coverage, and risk acceptance criteria. - Communicate and embed sales strategy, campaigns, and priorities across the network clearly and consistently. - Build sales capability through training, ready-reckoners, FAQs, and on-call support. **Champion risk acceptance with underwriting** - Review risks declined by underwriting, assess viability, and make a reasoned case to UW for reconsideration of doable risks — backed by data and technical logic. - Coordinate closely with underwriters to expand acceptable risk appetite where commercially sound, and to align field expectations with UW guidelines. - Act as an honest broker between sales urgency and underwriting prudence. **Feedback loop & continuous improvement** - Capture recurring field issues and market feedback; feed them into product and underwriting for guideline refinement. - Keep sales teams updated on changes to guidelines, risk acceptance norms, and appetite. Must-Have Skills - Working knowledge of the rating structures applicable to both Property and Engineering products — able to quickly dissect pricing and frame a precise, well-justified discount ask to underwriting, rather than leaving it for the UW to work out. - 3–5 years of experience in Property & Engineering insurance, with hands-on underwriting background in the LOB. - In-depth understanding of P&E products, coverages, rating, and risk acceptance guidelines. - Strong grasp of underwriting logic — able to credibly engage and influence underwriters. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management; comfortable working across sales and underwriting. **Preferred** - MBA (Sales/Marketing/Strategy or General Management). - Exposure to agency/retail broking distribution. Key Competencies: Technical product authority - Sales enablement - Analytical & data-driven reasoning - Collaboration - Ownership
