The Electrical Manager is responsible for **safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of all electrical systems** of the power plant, including **Generator, GT/ST auxiliaries, HT/LT systems, switchyard, protection & control, and electrical balance of plant (EBoP)**. The role ensures **statutory electrical compliance**, **high plant availability**, **cost control**, and **continuous improvement** through effective leadership and engineering excellence. **Qualifications** - B.E./B. Tech in Electrical Engineering - Authorized Electrical Supervisor / Competency Certificate / Energy Manager - OEM training -advantage (Siemens / GE / ABB / Schneider / L&T, etc.) **Experience** - Power plant electrical O&M (CCPP / Thermal / Large Utilities) - Handson exposure to generator, switchyard, protection, and HT systems **Key Responsibilities** - Ensure safe, reliable, and continuous operation of all electrical systems: - Generators, Static excitation systems SEE), Start-up Frequency Convertor (SFC) - Unit, Auxiliary, Interconnecting & Bus reactor transformers - HT/LT switchgear (GIS/AIS), High Speed Bus Transfer System - HT/LT Motors, VFDs, UPS, batteries, DC systems, Earthing System - Black Start and Emergency Diesel Generators - AIS Switchyard (66 kV / 220 kV / 400 kV), 400 kV GIS - Plan and execute preventive, predictive, condition monitoring and breakdown maintenance. - Lead troubleshooting and fault analysis to minimize forced outages. - Support startups, shutdowns, and emergency operations. - Coordinate internally and with RLDC/SLDC/Discom for shutdowns, and compliance. - Lead electrical scope during Major and minor planned outages, Life assessment / RLArelated activities - Ensure compliance with: CEA Regulations, Electricity Act, Factory Act, electrical safety rules - Ensure safety compliance, permittowork, LOTO, and incident investigation implementation. - Develop and implement Maintenance philosophies and strategies, Critical spares planning and lifecycle management - Analyze equipment failures using RCA and trend analysis. - Improve reliability through condition monitoring, thermography, IR testing, PD measurements, and oil analysis (electrical). - Evaluate and manage OEMs, AMC vendors, and service contractors. Monitor vendor performance against safety, quality, cost, and timeline benchmarks. - Spare procurement with technical evaluations and spares strategy.
