Oracle Developer Lead Experience: 8- 12 Years Location: Gurugram / India Employment Type: Full-time Function: Technology / Engineering About the Role We are looking for an experienced Oracle Developer Lead to lead the design, development, optimization, and delivery of Oracle-based applications and database solutions. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, database development, performance tuning, and data integration, along with the ability to guide a team of developers and work closely with business and technology stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, experience managing complex database environments, and the ability to take ownership of projects from requirements through production deployment. Key Responsibilities • Lead the design, development, and implementation of Oracle database solutions. • Develop complex PL/SQL procedures, functions, packages, triggers, views, and SQL queries. • Design and optimize database schemas, tables, indexes, constraints, and data models. • Analyze and improve SQL and database performance, including query optimization and execution plans. • Lead database development and integration for enterprise applications. • Work closely with business analysts, product teams, architects, and other engineering teams to understand requirements. • Translate functional requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions. • Review code and ensure adherence to development standards, coding practices, and database best practices. • Mentor and guide Oracle developers and conduct technical knowledge-sharing sessions. • Own technical delivery, estimation, planning, and task allocation for Oracle development initiatives. • Troubleshoot complex production issues and provide root-cause analysis and permanent fixes. • Support database deployments, releases, migrations, and production rollouts. • Ensure data integrity, security, availability, and reliability across database solutions. • Work on data migration, ETL, and integration requirements as needed. • Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams for database deployment and environment management. • Prepare technical documentation, design documents, and database specifications. Required Technical Skills • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database. • Excellent knowledge of Oracle SQL and PL/SQL. • Strong experience in: • Stored Procedures • Functions • Packages • Triggers • Views • Cursors • Collections • Dynamic SQL • Strong understanding of database design, normalization, indexing, partitioning, and data modeling. • Experience with SQL performance tuning and query optimization. • Good understanding of Oracle execution plans and database performance monitoring. • Experience with database migrations and production deployments. • Knowledge of ETL/data integration tools is preferred. • Experience working with large-volume transactional databases. • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills. Leadership & Stakeholder Management • Lead a team of Oracle developers and provide technical direction. • Conduct code reviews and establish development best practices. • Break down complex requirements into technical tasks and provide effort estimates. • Coordinate with Product, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Business teams. • Manage technical risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines. • Mentor junior and senior developers and build technical capabilities within the team. • Communicate technical issues and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Good to Have • Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, GoldenGate, or Exadata. • Knowledge of Oracle APEX. • Experience with Oracle Forms/Reports. • Exposure to ETL tools such as Informatica. • Knowledge of cloud databases, particularly Oracle Cloud / OCI. • Experience with Java or other backend technologies. • Exposure to AWS/Azure/GCP database environments. • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies. Qualifications • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. • 8+ years of relevant experience in Oracle development. • Proven experience leading Oracle/database development teams. • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
