**Role & responsibilities** **Job Purpose**: To ensure that all risks and opportunities related to environment, health and safety (EHS) in the manufacturing unit are identified and managed effectively with an objective to continuously improve the EHS performance. **Principal Accountabilities:** 1. Overall responsibility of managing environment, health & safety (EHS) related aspects and ensuring compliance with companys EHS Guidelines at the **project site**. 2. Ensure that all applicable statutes related to environment, occupational health and safety are complied with. 3. Ensure risks associated with all activities and areas in the premises have been assessed and accordingly design & implement the risk mitigation measures. 4. Ensure that relevant EHS communications and awareness programs are effectively delivered. 5. Ensure through regular site inspections/ appropriate liaising with workmen that safe work practices are adhered to. 6. Ensure that all near-misses and incidents are captured and analyzed and actions are taken to prevent recurrence. 7. Ensure timely actions and reviews on the findings of site inspections and EHS audits. 8. To make sure that safety features are in-built at the initial stage of new projects. 9. Ensure that the EHS risks associated with all new machines are assessed and mitigated before their commissioning. Knowledge: 1. EHS related legislative requirements 2. Industrys best practices and latest technology in relevant areas 3. Company’s EHS Guidelines 4. Safety management systems e.g. work permit system, hazard spotting, near miss reporting Skills: 1. Communication and Interpersonal ability 2. Strong people management skills 3. Logical thinking with technical and analytical ability 4. High level of motivation and energy **Experience and Educational qualifications:** 1. Candidate should possess a : A recognized degree in Engineering/Technology (BE/ BTech) in any field with at least 2 years of experience in supervisory/ managerial role in Production, Maintenance or Safety department Or A recognized diploma in any branch of engineering or technology and has had practical experience of Working in a factory in a supervisory capacity for a period of not less than 4 years. Or Degree in Physics/Chemistry or Diploma in Engineering/Technology with at least 5 years of experience in supervisory/managerial role in Production, Maintenance or Safety department 2. Candidate should possess a full time degree or diploma or certificate in industrial safety or equivalent of duration not less than one Year awarded by any university incorporated under the Central or State legislations or Department of Technical Education or Board of Technical education of any State Government of India 3. Candidate must have adequate knowledge of Telugu and the language spoken by majority of the workers in the region 4. Should have 60% throughout his academics. **Preferred candidate profile** - Candidate preferred from any Diploma in Safety courses
