Position: Manager- SCM **Location: Gurgaon Reporting** **to:** **AVP** **SCM** **----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------** We are looking for a skilled **Procurement Manager** to oversee procurement activities for solar, BESS and renewable energy projects. Responsibilities include cost-effective sourcing, supplier development, contract negotiation, and policy compliance at our operational plants. Candidates should understand procurement strategies, particularly in the solar sector, and drive improvements to meet objectives. Long-term objectives: - Streamline procurement processes by continuously refining workflows and advancing automation for SAP-MM entries and service records. - Uphold compliance and data integrity by maintaining accurate procurement data, ensuring readiness for audits and safeguarding informational quality. - Optimize vendor relationships and manage costs through strategic partnerships and implementation of cost-saving measures, including long-term agreements. - Strengthen contract management by ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, emphasizing thorough documentation, performance monitoring, and adherence to established guidelines. - Administer procurement-related data effectively and structure documentation to meet audit requirements. - Enhance team performance and capability by providing ongoing support, fostering improved execution and encouraging cross-functional collaboration. - Advance sustainability and risk management strategies to mitigate procurement risks and promote organizational sustainability objectives. - Drive system enhancements and automation initiatives to improve the accuracy and efficiency of procurement data. - Track and report key procurement metrics to inform decision-making and elevate procurement performance. Key Responsibilities: 1. **Procurement** **Management:** - consistently achieving cost-efficient sourcing while adhering to organizational procurement policies and standards. - Administer the acquisition of materials, services, and equipment for renewable energy initiatives, encompassing PV modules, BESS, inverters, trackers, robotics, civil works packages, electrical work packages tand related items. - Coordinate procurement processes for solar, wind, and hybrid energy projects, ensuring timely delivery of materials and effective cost management. 2. Procurement Strategies: - Define, implement, and drive procurement strategies for large-scale projects. - Prepare project-wise cash outflows and plan funds effectively for the procurement of materials and services. - Ensure the application of QCD (Quality, Cost, Delivery) principles for procurement activities. 3. Contract Negotiation and Vendor Management: - Negotiate and conclude commercial contracts, ensuring adherence to all legal, technical, and financial requirements. - Prepare and finalize agreements with vendors and suppliers for designated project categories, such as Switchyard, Transmission Lines, power transformer and Inverters , - Establish and maintain effective working relationships with both new and existing suppliers and contractors, with a focus on achieving cost efficiencies and ensuring timely project delivery. 4. Vendor Development and Cost Optimization: - Identify and establish relationships with new suppliers and contractors to support current and future projects. - Prepare detailed techno-commercial comparison reports, conduct rate negotiations, and confirm purchase order agreements. - Implement cost optimization strategies by securing annual rate contracts with suppliers for A and B class items. 5. Customs & Import Management: - Manage the imports, customs clearance, and dispatch of materials, including PV modules, inverters, and related equipment to project sites across India. - Ensure proper registration processes to save additional import duties and adhere to applicable regulations. 6. Process Improvement & Compliance: - Drive continuous improvements in procurement processes to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and ensure compliance. - Ensure all procurement activities align with industry standards, and legal, and commercial guidelines. - Maintain and update procurement-related records and data for audits and compliance checks. 7. Stakeholder Management: - Collaborate with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, technical) to ensure procurement goals align with overall business objectives. - Foster strong relationships with external vendors and contractors to ensure smooth procurement operations. Desired Qualifications & Experience: - **Education:** Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in engineering, ideally with a focus on Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical disciplines, or a closely related field. An MBA is considered an advantage. - **Experience:** Minimum of 10 years of procurement experience, with at least 5 years in the solar or renewable energy industry.
