**engineering, quality, and program management)Position: Senior Sourcing Manager - Wiring and Cable Harness** **Location:** Bangalore, India **Experience:** Minimum 14 years **Education:** Bachelor's Degree in Electronics OR Mechanical Engineering **Key Responsibilities:** - Lead the **sourcing and procurement** of components related to **automotive cable and wiring harness assemblies**, including **connectors, wires, cables, terminals**, and **electronic parts**. - **Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships**, focusing on: - **Part development and validation** - **Cable assembly outsourcing** - **Overmolding and tooling or cable assemblies** - Ensure **on-time availability** of components by proactively coordinating with suppliers and mitigating potential delays. - Drive **cost reduction strategies** through supplier negotiations, alternate sourcing, value engineering, and localisation. - Work closely with **internal cross-functional teams** (Engineering, Quality, Program Management) and **OEM customers** during the development and **part approval (PPAP/APQP)** phases. - Apply knowledge of **ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS standards**, and internal sourcing policies in daily operations. - Lead a **team of sourcing engineers**, setting clear goals, reviewing performance, and supporting their development. - Continuously evaluate the **supplier base** for competitiveness, risk, capability, and alignment with company goals. **Preferred Experience & Skills** - Proven track record in **sourcing wiring and cable harness systems** in the **automotive sector** (OEM or Tier-1). - Strong understanding of **technical specifications**, drawings, and manufacturing processes related to cable assemblies. - Excellent **negotiation** and **supplier management** skills with a focus on achieving **target costs** and improving supplier performance. - Experience working with **global suppliers** and managing component localisation projects. - Proficiency in **cost analysis**, **should-cost modelling**, and other **cost reduction methodologies**. - Solid knowledge of **sourcing processes, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle)**, and procurement best practices. - Strong **communication and leadership skills**, with experience in leading engineering or sourcing teams. - Familiarity with **regulatory and quality standards** in the automotive industry.
