GMM Pfaudler Systems 3D CAD Structural Steel Designer Job Description 19-Jun-2026 Page 1 of 3 SUMMARY GMM Pfaudler OF POSITION US Inc. is a leading supplier of highly engineered, critical equipment and process systems for energy, chemical and industrial markets. The Systems Group within GMM Pfaudler designs and fabricates complete modular process systems including Reactor Systems, Wiped Film Evaporator (WFE) Systems, Distillation Systems, and other special process design systems. GMM Pfaudler is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Designer to fill the position of CAD Structural Steel 3D Designer in the Systems Group located at our GECs Mumbai Office to complete design work for our GMM Pfaudler System US Entity. Every process system that our Systems Group designs is custom designed for each client’s specific needs. We work with a broad range of processes for many different industries including Specialty Chemicals, Pharmaceuticals, Nutraceuticals, Petrochemicals, Polymers, and others. Our clients rely on our Systems Group to design complete chemical process systems for their new products and for their capacity expansions of existing processes or products. For the new product systems that we design, we take the client’s laboratory or pilot test data and scale up to design a commercial scale production system. For the systems that we design for client capacity expansion, our clients rely on our Systems Group to evaluate their existing processes and improve the designs for increased capacity, improved quality and ease of operation. The high-level summary of the 3D CAD Structural Steel Designer: Our 3D CAD Piping Designers model the system in Plant 3D and rough in the structural steel using Plant 3D “piper’s steel” and then export the steel to Advance Steel for detailing. The 3D CAD Structural Steel Designer details the structural steel in Advance Steel and creates all 2D fabrication drawings required for construction of the systems. The Structural Designer may, from time to time, be asked to complete other 2D or 3D design work (bills of materials, orthographic drawings, isometric drawings, P&IDs, etc.) required for projects. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Essential duties include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Primary Duty – s tructural s teel 3D design Our 3D Piping Designers create rough 3D structural steel modules in Autodesk Plant 3D and then model all the equipment and interconnecting piping for the process modules and then export the structural steel module to Advance Steel for the Structural Steel Designer to detail. These process skid modules range in size from simple 3’Wx4’L base-level skids to 12’Wx14’Lx60’H modules with multiple level operating decks and access stairs, with some very large projects consisting of multiple, combined large modules. The Structural Steel Designer fully details the structural steel in Advance Steel and creates 2D fabrication drawings. Structural detailing with Advance Steel includes but is not limited to the following: GMM Pfaudler Systems 3D CAD Structural Steel Designer Job Description 19-Jun-2026 Page 2 of 3-------- Create these drawings. all structural member connections and detail on the 2D fabrication Create column/module baseplate connections and detail these on the 2D fabrication drawings. Model (in 3D) handrails and toe plates, where required in the assembly, and detail these on the 2D fabrication drawings. Model (in 3D) toe plates around all floor penetrations and detail these on the 2D fabrication drawings. Model (in 3D) stairs and ladders and create the connection details and detail the these on the 2D fabrication drawings. Detail pipe supports included in the structural design. Create 2D plan and elevation drawings for use by structural engineers for the structural steel analysis/calculations. The Structural Designer will make any changes required by the structural engineer (for example, increasing member sizes, adding knee-bracing or X-bracing, gussets, stiffeners, etc.) and revise the 2D drawings to issue for fabrication. Create and export structural steel module bills of materials Secondary Duty – Structural Steel Designer , from time to time, may also be asked to do the following work: Create 2D Piping & Instrument Diagrams (P&IDs) and 2D Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) using Autodesk Plant 3D.---- Create custom parts (equipment, instruments, piping components such as valves) using Autodesk Plant 3D. Create isometric drawings of 3D piping assemblies using Autodesk Plant 3D. Create orthographic drawings of 3D piping assemblies using Autodesk Plant 3D. Create and export bills of materials of 3D piping assemblies using Autodesk Plant 3D. Module piping assemblies using Autodesk Plant 3D. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None.
