Reserve your slot Location: Kuppepalayam ,Coimbatore Qualifications: B.E./B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics) + MBA in Supply Chain/Operations Experience: Min 15 yrs with Minimum 5-6 yrs solar module component procurement Roles and Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement • Develop and execute procurement strategy • Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering, alternate sourcing, and long-term contracts • Monitor global solar supply chain trends, polysilicon/cell pricing, and commodity markets (cell, silver, aluminium, glass, copper) to inform buying decisions Vendor Management • Identify, evaluate, and onboard domestic and international suppliers • Conduct vendor audits, capability assessments, and performance scorecards (quality, delivery, cost, compliance) • Negotiate contracts, rate agreements, and long-term supply agreements (LTAs) with key suppliers • Manage supplier risk and build a dual/multi-sourcing strategy to avoid single-source dependency • Coordinate technical verification of vendor material specifications beyond documentary compliance, working with Quality where needed Operations & ; Coordination • Ensure material availability aligned with production planning to prevent line stoppages • Strong knowledge of solar module BOM, cell/module manufacturing process, and PV component sourcing markets, including DCR/NDCR sourcing requirements and dual vendor qualification under ALMM List-I/List-II • Manage BOM and vendor transitions tied to product/format changeovers (e.g., cell/wafer format, ribbon, glass, cable spec changes) to avoid production disruption • Coordinate with Quality for incoming material quality and vendor non-conformance resolution • Track and reduce inventory holding costs while maintaining safety stock for critical items Import & ; Trade Finance Management • Manage end-to-end import procurement: Letter of Credit (LC) issuance and reimbursement structuring, documentation, customs clearance, and duty optimization • Working understanding of forex exposure on import POs track USD/INR (and other currency) movement, evaluate hedging/timing options, and factor FX risk into landed cost decisions • Coordinate with freight forwarders on shipment planning, consolidation opportunities (air vs. sea), cost benchmarking, and delivery timelines to avoid demurrage/detention costs • Liaise with banks/finance on LC terms, arrangement fees, and tenor structuring to optimize cost of import financing Compliance & ; Documentation • Ensure adherence to ALMM (Approved List of Models and Manufacturers), BIS, and other regulatory requirements for domestic solar manufacturing • Maintain procurement compliance with company policies, statutory requirements, and audit standards • Oversee purchase order management, contract documentation, and vendor master data integrity • String in IMS documentation, follow up for process. Team & Stakeholder Management • Lead and mentor the procurement team (buyers, sourcing executives) • Collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Quality, Finance, and R& ;D/NPD teams • Present procurement performance, cost savings, and supply risk reports to senior management Skills: • Experience with SAP • Working knowledge of forex/trade finance instruments (LC, bank guarantees) as applied to import procurement • Strong leadership and team management skills able to lead, mentor, and build capability within a procurement team • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership • Strong negotiation and vendor relationship management • Working knowledge of IMS (Integrated Management System ISO • 9001/14001/45001) requirements as applicable to procurement processes and documentation • Strong process knowledge — procurement lifecycle (indent to PO to GRN to payment), SOP adherence, and continuous process improvement mindset
