Job Summary • Position Title Assistant Manager - RD Process Digitalization • Grade: JE is to be done • Business Group / Division/ Department Research Development • Location Thane • This Role Reports to Head RD Process Digitalization • This Role Supervises - Purpose of the Role The Process Digitalization Team, part of RD, plays a key role in supporting the various business verticals in the management of Technical Product Information in the New Product Development Process in the best way. The team has a leading role in the implementation of Best Practices in the usage of PLM in Blue Star. We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Junior PLM Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our end-users across our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Mechanical Computer-Aided Design systems, including Windchill, Celoxis, and their Blue Star customizations. You will be a key player in ensuring our engineering and design teams can leverage these tools effectively to achieve their objectives. Ideal Profile • Educational Qualification Essential Engineering Graduate Mechanical or Industrial Engineering • Preferred Engineering Graduate + • Total Experience Required 5 Yrs Relevant Experience 4 Yrs • Functional / Technical Expertise Strong understanding of Windchill's underlying architecture and components. • Knowledge on Azure and ALM tools will be plus • Expertise in configuring Windchill modules, including workflows, lifecycles, access control policies, business rules, UI, and data models. • Hands-on experience with CAD data management and integrations (e.g., Creo, Autodesk, SolidWorks, Altium). • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with core Windchill modules such as PDMLink, MPMLink, PartsLink, SUMA. • Plan and Execute User Acceptance Tests for bug fixes coming from the IT Supplier • Share knowledge internal/external to the team • An understanding of customization principles is essential, particularly as they relate to Bluestar customizations. • Exhibit strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, characterized by a systematic and logical approach to issue diagnosis and remediation • Should be able to understand the different Concepts of PLM Workflow Management, Classification, Product Structure, Search Re-use etc. • Very good knowledge and experience of the market areas (HVAC, Consumer electricals etc.) • Understanding of the business processes like NPD, Stage Gates, Design Review, Drawing Approval etc. Main Responsibilities • Execute the configuration, testing, and deployment of new PLM features, workflows (e.g., Change Management - ECN/ECO), and data structures as defined in the digitalization roadmap. • Manage day-to-day operations and maintenance of the PLM environment, including user accounts, access controls, and security settings. • Support the integration points between PLM (e.g., bill of materials, product data) and other enterprise systems like SAP (ERP). • Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating detailed PLM-related process documentation, user manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs). • Ensure adherence to the established Engineering Change Management (ECN/ECO) and Stage-Gate/NPD governance processes within the PLM system. • Verify that design documentation, test records, and product files maintain configuration control and are audit-ready within the system. • Monitor and audit the quality and completeness of product data (e.g., part numbers, specifications, design within the PLM system). • Generate and maintain operational reports and dashboards on PLM utilization, data quality metrics, and ECN/ECO cycle times. • Provide Level 1/2 technical support to end-users on PLM system usage, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. • Deliver regular training and capability-building sessions for engineering teams on new PLM features, processes, and best practices to drive adoption. • Collect and analyze user feedback to identify system and process gaps for continuous improvement. • Develop detailed user requirement specifications, test scripts, and rollout plans for minor PLM enhancements or upgrades. • Coordinate testing activities (e.g., User Acceptance Testing - UAT) for new PLM implementations with cross-functional teams.
