The Associate Consultant – Cardiology is responsible for providing comprehensive diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive cardiac care to patients. The role involves managing OPD, IPD, emergency, and critical care cardiac patients while supporting interventional procedures, participating in multidisciplinary care, and ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and quality standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cardiovascular diseases in OPD, IPD, ICU, and emergency settings. - Perform comprehensive cardiac assessments, including history taking, physical examination, and interpretation of diagnostic investigations. - Interpret ECG, Echocardiography, Holter monitoring, Stress Test (TMT), and other non-invasive cardiac investigations. - Assist in and independently perform cardiac procedures as per credentials and hospital privileges. - Manage patients with acute coronary syndrome, heart failure, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, and other cardiovascular disorders. - Participate in cardiac emergencies, code blue, and rapid response teams. - Develop individualized treatment plans and ensure continuity of patient care. - Coordinate with intensivists, cardiac surgeons, emergency physicians, and other specialties for multidisciplinary management. - Maintain accurate and timely documentation of clinical records and discharge summaries. - Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, lifestyle modification, and follow-up care. - Ensure compliance with NABH, hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards. - Participate in departmental academic activities, CMEs, audits, and quality improvement initiatives. - Support teaching and training of residents, fellows, interns, and nursing staff. - Participate in rotational duties, including on-call and emergency services. **Qualifications:** - MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine and DM/DNB (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification recognized by the NMC. - Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC)/State Medical Council. **Experience:** - 0–3 years of experience as a Cardiologist after DM/DNB (Cardiology). - Experience in tertiary care or multi-specialty hospitals is preferred.
